With four games remaining, 20 teams are either in or within one game of a playoff spot. We pick the winners in this weekend's playoff race.
It’s Week 14 of the NFL season and only four games remain to decide who advances to the playoffs. Who makes "the tournament" is anybody's guess: 29 teams remain in (mathematical) contention for a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII, though only 20 teams are either in or within one game of a playoff spot.
It's going to be a long weekend for Cowboys fans, as the Cowboys are playing the Bears on Monday night football this week. The Cowboys enter Week 14 tied for first place in the NFC East with Philadelphia. Dallas has won two in a row, and five of its last seven.
"We just need to keep winning games," says Tony Romo. "Our football team continues to try and improve each week and I think we’re playing some of our best football right now."
The Bears sit a game out of first place in the NFC North with a 6-6 record and are worried their playoff hopes may be slipping away after dropping their last two games. The Bears are 3-4 over their last seven games.
Mike Fisher wrote the other day that the Cowboys' magic number is four: Any combination of Cowboys wins and Eagles losses that adds up to four means the Cowboys make the playoffs. And this week could be a good start towards that magic number. Our panel, completely objective about its glorious subjectivity in all things Cowboys-related, is unanimous in picking the Cowboys over the Bears. And just like last week, the majority likes whoever is playing the Eagles.
Here are our complete Week 14 picks:
