It's better to be 4-1 than 3-2, so our entire panel today is pulling for a Cowboys win.
Good things happen to teams that advance to 4-1. Since realignment in 2002, 45 of the 63 teams (71.4%) that started the season 4-1 made the playoffs.
The Cowboys are currently sitting at 3-1, and the historic playoff odds of 3-1 teams over the last 12 years were 57.9% (55 of 95). In case of a win on Sunday, their odds climb to 71.4%. In case of a loss, the odds drop to 47.6%, as the table below illustrates:
That's quite a significant drop, and one reason why it's better to be 4-1 than 3-2. It's also one reason why our entire panel today is pulling for a Cowboys win. Below is a look at all our picks for the Week 5 action. Let us know what you think about the picks, and don't forget to enter our Pick 256 challenge this week - if you haven't already done so.
