Our staff writers pick the winners and losers for the Week 8 NFL action.

Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes as the Cowboys defeated the 49ers last week in San Francisco and improved to a 3-3 record.

Prescott, who is currently in his second season, has seven career games with at least three touchdown passes and one or zero interceptions. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino (nine) had more such games in a player’s first two seasons, and Prescott still has eleven more games to catch up with Marino. For the season, Prescott is ranked second overall in QBR with 78.1, behind only Texans rookie sensation Deshaun Watson.

The Commanders dropped to 3-3 after losing to the Eagles on Monday night, but they are also led by a red-hot quarterback.

Kirk Cousins leads the NFC with a 107.2 passer rating and 8.3 yards-per-pass average. He has passed for at least 300 yards in three of his past four games and has thrown multiple touchdown passes in each of his past four games.

But Sunday's battle of quarterbacks may well be determined not by the quarterbacks but by the guys protecting them. The Cowboys are expected to have all their O-line starters ready to go for the game, while the Commanders don't yet know which linemen they'll have available.

#Commanders have 9 OL on the active roster. In a short week vs. DAL, 6 are injured. 4 are starters.

Our staff writers like the Cowboys under these circumstances and make them one of four unanimous picks for this weekend. The other three unanimous picks are the Chiefs and whichever teams are playing the Browns and 49ers.
