Dak has continued to work QB mechanics with ex-QBs Coach Jon Kitna this 2020 offseason, even though Jon Kitna is no longer coaching with the Dallas Cowboys.

We all saw the big improvement in mechanics, command and passing Dak took from 2018 to 2019 thanks to the help of Jon Kitna. Now, Dak is back on his own continuing to receive Jon Kitna's training help.
Is this great news or what!?!? :flagwave:

What say you?

Don't know why we're surprised. Dak has been and is a competitor. He's constantly trying to get better and things implied by outsiders is deafening to him. In other words, he's not listening to all the trash spewed by hate. He knew how valuable Kitna was to his development so he continues to use him.

McCarthy made a mistake by not retaining Kitna.

Kitna is a huge influence on Dak and obviously gained his trust because what he was teaching worked.

Every player is working out somewhere with someone to stay in shape since there were no OTAs or mini camp.

Total non-story.

He showed some improvements, but its more the natural progression of a young QB that has the work ethic that Dak does. And the big leap was more about getting with an OC that opened up the passing game.

That may be, but then he probably wouldn't have been allowed to work out with Kitna in the off-season if McCarthy retained Kitna. I did find it odd that he didn't retain him given that Dak obviously improved under Kitna.

Yes. Not being able to work with Kitna is bad for Dak.

Oh wait. He's literally got the guy as his personal coach during a period he couldn't work with Moore or Nussmeier.

Perhaps you do not understand the significance of Dak's trust in Kitna. I would say this trust is something that a new HC should leverage and create better synergy with his starting QB.

Kitna could be immersing Dak in not just technique work right now but the intricacies of the new offense and verbiage that McCarthy will be installing.

I love it. Hated to see Kitna released, but if Dak is still working with him then win / win :)

Interesting. Kitna was the one coach I didn't feel great about showing the door. Dak improved last year. It was unclear how much Kitna was the reason for that, but Dak seems to have cast his vote that it was.

Kind of peculiar, is it not? Working out with the position coach the team just replaced? Probably feel a little off to McCarthy and the new QB coach. Bad juju.
