Given the mood at VR these days of purging aging, costly, not part of our future, vets (if there is reasonable hope, if not fully developed talent, behind them) I give you the following list of bubble vets for consideration.

Keep in mind as well that we have a number of young players we may not want to risk waivers on. Its those players that could push some of these vets out strange as that seems.

Kitna (keeping a guy in his last year will cost us a player for ur future)
Choice (might be our best b/u today but it's hard to envision him being re-sgned next year)
MartyB (if anything maybe a trip to IR, not a likely release, but I'll mention him because he has not been worth his 2nd round status thus far)
Gurode (see recent news)
Holland (hanging by a thread it seems)
Young (Parnell seems to be improving quicker)
Carter (ok, he's a rookie, but I think coaches will be tempted to PUP this guy)
Newman (with Scandrick secured, Newman old & pricey,is he here in 2012? Crazy? Yeah, there is some aggressive thinking at VR these days)
Brooking (I think he stays largely because I think his deal is reasonable)
AOA (geez, this would be a short leash but I could see it)
Buehler (Gone! I still like his upside but Bailey/Graham are FG kickers NOW)

Surprising Locks. (meaning they were not considered as such when TC began)

McGee (ok, maybe not a surprise, but a year ago he was sweating bullets, coming on nicely now)
Arkin, Costa, Nagy (its not media hype, VR is sold on these guys. What they'll become we shall see, but they ARE locks in 2011)
Kowalski (ok, he's not a lock. Or is he if Gurode is gone?)
Hatcher (all but gone before re-signing, I think hope is renewing in this guys potential)
Sensabaugh (flashing playmaker ability after being heavily maligned?)
Bailey/Graham (its one of these two at K in 2011)
M.Butler (the other Butler is flashing too much to risk waivers)
Church (this UDFA seems to have established himself as #3 at S)

He sure made an argument for letting gurode go, didn't he? Costa and Kowalski would not hurt my fellings, although I will miss the random ballistic shotgun snap Gurode has perfected.

No more false starts and holding penalties from Flo and Columbo.

Now we might get rid of those circus snaps during critical moments as well.

I like the possibility of having a football smart, young, mobile and cohesive o-line growing.

I just wonder how all of a sudden we can pick guys 4th round down, in all due respect to Tyron Smith of course, and plug em in as adequate starters as rookies or 2nd year players.

I know he's been regarded for a long time as one of the premier o-line coaches but is Hudson Houck really that great at developing o-lines that are not made up of his traditional style of player?

Have we just become this good at finding the leagues hidden o-line gems? Bucking the historic trends that have haunted this franchise in that regard?
Like we got un-drafted, 7th rounders, 3rd and 4th rounders that are rookies and 2nd year players probably going to start.

They haven't looked bad in preseason either. I always did defend Houck because he truly has been working with someone else's draft picks and o-line FA's. But these shifty and smaller o-lineman are not his usual style and he seems to be putting something together with low round prospects.

I like that he is also the running game coordinator. Now there is a line that compliments the style of our rb's and our QB that can be very mobile and accurate on the run.

I feel with Romo it is necessary to utilize his mobility more and also his ability to improvise. Harnessed of course, but utilize these things.

It makes him that much more dangerous and having a much more mobile o-line offers value to that approach.
