Would the intentions of Tampa be to take Suh? I like Josh Johnson, and St. Louis does need help across the board, but who do they take at 3 assuming Suh and McCoy are gone? Berry, Haden, or an OT?

It's interesting. I'd strongly consider it if I were STL. You got to throw the pick value nonsense out the window and start looking at deals that can help you get better.

Why on earth would the Bucs trade away Josh Johnson? You're going to trade away your future franchise QB to take a DT?

Freeman's their franchise guy...Johnson was like a 3rd rounder the year before, IIRC

Josh Freemans their franchise guy, similar playing styles though.

I take and run if I'm St. Louis. It gets me out of the #1 overall contract, nets me my QB of the future, a franchise LT to protect his blind side and an extra third-rounder that could turn into Andre Roberts, Jeremy Williams or Jordy Shipley.

This would be a good move for both teams and this would have, IMO, Bradford going to the Skins and then Clausen to the Hawks who I've been reading are looking to get their guy of the future to groom behind Matt for a year or so.

Bad move for the Rams. Suh is the kind of guy who can turn a defense around. Also the they drafted a franchise LT last year, didnt they? And I question Johnson being more than back up.

This makes a lot of sense all the way around. It seems like TB is giving up slightly too much though. I has to be that they must really want Suh, because at pick three they were already sittin' pretty.

I completely misread and misinterpreted it, I thought they were trading Freeman even while reading and writing Johnson. My bad. :laugh2:

I had the Rams trading down with the Bucs in the "31 other teams" threads for a similar trade, so naturally I like this for both teams.

I don't think TB's giving up too much. TB has too many QBs, and it's obvious that Josh Johnson isn't going to be getting his chance there. A 3rd round pick for the right to draft Suh seems like a bargain.

If I'm STL, I'm not sure I don't keep trying to trade back. Berry or Haden would look great on their defense. Maybe move back for Dez, 3 overall seems a bit high for him.

Nice call. i would think that the equal value would be the 1st overal for the 3rd overall plus the high 3rd rounder..without adding the player. But I guess it's not so. I would want a 4th at least if I were TB's GM.

Yeah, this deal is better than I projected (I was also thinking just the 3rd) but it's still a good move because Tampa has their QB of the future in Freeman. Of course, I only view Johnson as a developmental QB and would still add one in the draft if I'm the Rams.
