TAMPA, Fla. -- The Buccaneers are signing three-time Pro Bowl safety T.J. Ward, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

It's a one-year deal worth $5 million. He had been scheduled to make $4.5 million with the Denver Broncos this season but was released Saturday after three seasons.

why was the 3 time probowler released? Father time?

They have a young safety that they felt needed to be on the field and they are tight on the cap I believe. He is still a very good player.

I hope we don't regret this. That's a peanuts contract and we are unproven at best in the secondary
