Bucky Brooks 2023 NFL mock draft 4.0:

If I am dead set on taking an OL at 26, I'm taking John Michael Schmitz.
He has just as much guard-center position flex as Avila and is actually worth using the 26th pick on.
I think he will be pro bowl level at center and a huge upgrade over Biadaz.
Biadasz is a pro bowl level center.

Eh, wouldn't love it but not going to question this F.O. and taking OL in the first.

Why do people worry more about getting good value, than getting good players at positions of need?
Remember when everyone flipped out when they took Travis Fredrick in rd 1? What a terrible pick! They should have waited and taken him in rd 3! The Cowboys front office doesn't know what's it's doing!
And he goes on to be a day 1 starter, pro bowler and all pro, all in his rookie season.
If the guy can play and play well, it's never a reach. And definitely not because some mock draft board has him projected in the 35-50 range.
That was also a trade down situation.

That would need to be a trade down situation.
Well, in this draft there are a lot more teams at the bottom of the first looking to trade into the second. Only a few will be able to pull it off due to what’s on the board when they pick and who wants that player and thinks they can’t sit tight and wait.

UNDER
WHELMING

to say the very least.
I’d be fine with it.

DT, OG, RB and TE.

I’m good with BPA at any of those positions and I like Avila a lot more than some of the other potentials.

He’s a leader and has that dog in him. He’d start for a decade:

The next pick Bucky gets right will be the first. He's worse than any of us on these boards.

They will have their choice of just about any receiver they want…not to mention they have Sky Moore and Toney last year. They don’t need a RB.
Sky Moore and the oft injured Toney? Yah, they need an big upgrade. And Kelce isnt getting any younger. Flowers or one of the others would be great for them. Gibbs would also do amazing with them.

They have Pacheco lol. You’re telling the champs what they need lol. They need defense if anything. Not received.

Pecheco? Wow, what a stud.

Gibbs would be perfect for that team in a pass happy offense.

They need defense, but receivers and if a guy like Gibbs is there, they may jump at him. I wouldnt rule out a TE either.

That would need to be a trade down situation.
Is that based on inside info or draft guru big boards. I don’t give much credence to talking heads but I have seen some predictions recently with Avila late first and top 2nd. I also noticed Mel moved him ahead to Torrence, not that his opinion matters either.

If Dallas likes him and thinks dropping will risk losing him, they will not move down. Their evaluation is the only one that matters.

I see 8 offensive lineman graded higher than Avila on the big board I'm looking at.

Is that the Cowboys board or an internet board? Avila is a guard. Is your board for guards, guards & tackles, guards & tackles & centers?

Tankathon big board. He's 8th out of every offensive lineman. They have him 50th in the entire draft.
