I find it very amusing that one person's opinion can "debunk" another person's opinion.

There are still people that think Quincy Carter was going to be a great QB.

It's not an opinion. It's a fact.

Roy was not taken off the field in passing situations. Unless your definition of that is that once or twice, in a passing situation, Roy was not on the field.

Which is probably also true of every member of our secondary, so that can't possibly be what is meant.

This is not debatable. It is some stupid idea that has been repeated so much by journalists and fans who rely more on those journalist's opinion than watching the Cowboys play.

When Roy Williams was in the game, and what type of game situation is was are not matters of opinion. They're facts. Verifiable, objective, not subject to interpretation facts.

You can love Roy all you want. As for me, unless he makes a HUGE improvement this year, then I will be happy to see him cut. If #38 plays like #31 from his first few seasons then I will jump back on the bandwagon.

You're making the case that I love Roy because I say he didn't *suck?* Or doesn't it matter what's actually posted anymore, either since we're pretending to be detached from reality? Or are we not even pretending anymore? It's all so confusing when you get to just believe anything you want for no good reason.

The quote was referencing a quote stated that Roy's play had dropped off. People still want to debate that for some reason.

It never referenced being taken out in "all passing situations". dcfanatic mentioned that he was taken out in certain situations.....and he was.

For a supposedly elite player being paid elite money, he shouldn't need to be taken off the field in any situation.

I was referencing the second paragraph you quoted.

However, Roy was taken out in certain situations. Not all, but some.

Whatever. Hey you like the very mediocre Roy Williams. That's fine with me. I expect MUCH more from him. Besides, you singled out my post saying my opinion that Roy sucked has been debunked to the point that it is a fact that he does not suck. Well I can either believe Roy's FEW defenders or my own eyes. I watched the games last year, I think he sucks now. There are a lot more people, the media included, who believe that your point of view is the one that has been debunked.

Then hopefully you'll head down to Dallas and tell our coaching staff that they need to stop creating packages that take elite players off the field. Let me know how your field trip goes.

Oh, nevermind. If saying Roy Williams doesn't suck is the new definition of defending him around here, then I might as well get used to being an extremist.

:laugh2: Whatever. I thought you were starting to come around on Williams at the end of the season.

Do you really think he's an elite safety?

Do you really need to ask such a dumb question?

Ah, I see we're back in the old call anybody dumb who doesn't extoll the greatness of Roy Williams mode.

I guess we'll see. I'm still hoping he turns things around. I think his play has been pretty disappointing for the last few years.

How melodramatic are we?

You don't see much of anything. At least not here. I said nothing about the level of Roy's play. That's why your question is stupid. I have said quite a few times in the past 18 months where I think Roy's level of play is - sometimes directly to you. That is also why your question is stupid. And you've followed it up with a stupid statement.

It hasn't been a good day for you.

:laugh2:

Oh boo hoo. Same old act from superpunk. Question Roy Williams and he'll question your intelligence.

It'll be OK. Go put on your new #38 jersey, watch the Boom! video and read the myths again. Maybe you'll feel better.
