wow they used a second round pick on the guy. Honestly didn't fault them for it as he was a fantastic kicker all through college. He got to the pros and flamed

This should be a lesson to all teams to never use a high draft pick on a kicker again! I don't care how impressive they were in college, kicking is so much a mental game that all it takes is a few misses for them to lose it completely and possibly never regain that touch. Even though he's just in his 2nd year, he is probably FAR from the prospect he was a year ago already due to the baggage.

i think if he gets a shot with another team he may turn it around. sometimes a change of scenery works wonders.

They can always turn it around. Think Nick Folk. He fell pretty hard here, but turned it around with the Jets.

Your point is correct however

Yeah he really did look like he was going to be possibly the best kicker in the NFL when he was coming out of college. Oh well thems the breaks you gamble often in drafting and lose a lot actually.

The college leaderboard for kicking accuracy is full of guys who could not do it at the NFL level.

At FSU he converted 95.5% of his field goal attempts in 2013, 90% in 2014 and 80.8% in 2015. The downward trend was there before he was drafted.

Yep, most, in fact.

Bears picked him up, Bears seems to love former Buccaneers players, now they have Glennon and Agayo

I legit lol.

There is a huge mental game with kickers. Folk went through it with us, and so did Carpenter in Miami(for example).

Rather blow a 2nd on someone like Gregory than a kicker that "busts".

Mind-boggling to trade up in the 2nd round to take a kicker
Totally unecessary and wastful.

The vast and overwhelming majority of top kickers were not drafted at all.

But I guess if a team sees someone that they think is a rare talent...maybe...maybe, the could spend a 5th or even a 4th.

But a 2nd is worth 5-10 times that!
Literally, a mid 2nd is worth more than ten 5th rounders trade value-wise.
Its nuts.

:laugh:Ok, feel better now
