One of the foundation pieces of Tampa's young defense won't be available for the first quarter of the season.

The NFL has suspended free safety Tanard Jackson for the first four games of 2009 for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Bucs G.M. Mark Dominik confirmed the news, and says Jackson will not appeal the suspension.

Jackson has been a starter since day one of his career and has developed into the most reliable player in Tampa's secondary.

With Jackson gone, Will Allen is likely to fill in at safety. Safety-turned-linebacker Jermaine Phillips could also potentially fill in if the team needs help.

Already had us pencilled in for 1-0. Has their starting LT even reported to camp yet? Sears I think is his name.

45-7, and the 7 comes in the last minute with only Buehler playing defense by himself.

In that case it will be 52-0, because Buehler will force the turnover and run it the length of the field.

I'm thinking 34-10

That's what I'm thinking. We should be able to carve that D fairly easy. Not alot of pass rush and Romo will have plenty of time.

I heard Buehler is working on beaning the kick returner with a kick, so that the ball bounces off his helmet, thus touching him, and rolls into the endzone for our team to recover for a TD

Lets not count our chickens yet, I vividly remember getting routed 44-6.

Meh, nevermind - we'll probably roll them 17.

Come on, if we cna beat them in 2008 with Father Time quarterbacking us, then I'm not worried about week-1 in 2009 with Romo starting.

The opening line on this game should favor Dallas by 13+ points. I personally wouldn't touch Tampa Bay unless I was getting 17-20 points.

One thing I have learned is that there is NO easy games in the NFL. I do hope we crush them but I wouldn't bet on it. I just hope we win the game.

This game personally scares me far more then the stadium opener in week II against the GMen.

We're supposed to roll a team like Tampa so these types of games always scare me.
