Looks like we either step up tonight or else the Giants probably take the division.

They will have 5 wins and we will have 2 wins if we lose.................don't see us making up 3 games in 8 weeks.

How do they remind you of that team? Their defense doesn't have anywhere near the pass rush talent that they had.

The Giants look like an average team just like they did in 2011. They don't have near the pass rushing talent but they just got JPP back that should help. If they ever get Cruz back on the field they'll have a solid a one-two punch at WR if he can return to form. It's far too early to make any judgments on who can hang with who in the playoffs. We found out in 2007 and 2011 that you can never count the Giants out.

Sigh...we have to read this after every Giants win..

Well the Giants will get smoked next week against NE, so they'll still have hope even if they lose tonight, but lose tonight and against the Bucs, just tank for a high draft pick.

lol what. They have no pass rush whatsoever. Unlike that team.

They don't have a pass rush but they just got JPP back that could help some. A lot of things can change between now and the end of the season you can't just count them out everyone was doing that in 2011.

That makes absolutely no sense.

The Giants went 4-4 in 2010 after starting the season 6-2 and missed the playoffs. In 2012, they went 3-5 after starting 6-2. Both times they missed the playoffs.

I thought since you seem to be rooting for them that you would know that.

I'm pointing out their history of turning average looking seasons into championship seasons and you construe that as rooting for them ? LOL Go waste someone else's time.

Yes, while avoiding the fact that they've choked away better seasons because it doesn't fit your agenda of acting like a realist when you're really just a pessimist.

The point is they haven't looked very good the first half of the season and during their last 2 championship seasons they came on strong at the end. They got hot at just the right time and went all the way. They've had seasons where they got off to good starts and faded. In 2011 they lost 4 straight games including 5 out of 6 and many were calling for Caughlin's head. They ended that season with 6 straight wins. Not saying that's going to happen again but I caution those who are counting them out. Many here were counting them out in 2011 after their 4 straight losses. I can't recall ever seeing a team that can turn things around the way the Giants can.

I'm not counting them out. They very well could go on a run. But they have shown under Coughlin they could just as easily tank it. That's why I think it's silly to just concede the division as many on here have done. We don't know how it is going to play out with each team having at least four losses at this point.

I expect Dallas to be at the most two losses behind the leader after next week. If that's the case, the division is still wide open with seven games left. Doesn't mean it'll be easy. Nothing is going to come easy this year, but the chance will still be there.

I haven't conceded the division too many games left but you seem to think from our discussion the other day that the Cowboys can lose their next 2 games and still have a shot and I don't agree. They have to win tonight because a 6th loss with the Packers and Carolina left on the schedule will doom their chances.

Um Seattle did it last year. It happens a lot but you have to turn off the NYG tunnel vision to see it.

Yes, I disagree. The Cowboys have shown before that they also can get on a roll, while the Giants have shown they can collapse. Obviously, it wouldn't be easy for Dallas to go 7-0 or 6-1, but it's not impossible. The past two games have shown that Green Bay can be beaten and I don't believe Carolina is a great team. So I can't see a doomed team with seven losses, just one with very little to no margin for error.

So much is going to matter about what kind of team Romo comes back to. Will it be one that has found its running game and established a defense that can consistently pressure QBs? If so, we're in it to the end. If not, too much will be on Romo's shoulders.

What are you talking about Seattle was the defending SB champions last season?

The Cowboys have never in the franchises history recovered from this bad a first 7 games to make the playoffs. This is their worst first half of the season since 2010. Both Atlanta and Green Bay are showing some chinks and I still don't think Cam Newton is a great QB which means anyone who makes the playoffs in the NFC can reach the SB. Trust me 7 losses in the first 9 games will DOOM the Cowboys.

Show me one of those years where we played that poorly with our starting franchise QB. Usually, teams that lose five of their first seven games are bad teams that don't improve dramatically the rest of the season. Dallas has a chance to improve dramatically, but the real key is the rest of the division being mediocre.

If the Eagles were 7-0 or the Giants were 7-1 this season, then there would be no chance. However, the top team in the division is one game over .500 and hasn't dominated those teams it has beaten, even this Dallas team without Romo. Seven losses don't doom us in this division IMO because of that and because we stand to be a different team with Romo back.

I'm in the game chat with the kick off upcoming save this for another time.
