I love this kid...I think he makes the perfect pairing w Byron Jones

Other than being small, there isn't anything not to like about this guy

Fast...sure tackler..aggressive...good ball skills..playmaker...good blitzer...can cover

I think he's exactly what this secondary is missing

Am I the only one that loves this kid?

Byron would have to move to corner, need one hitter in the middle. Where you thinking of drafting him?

Why do you have to have a hitter? I'm taking Baker at 28

I have no prob with Baker's tackling/hitting, talking about jones. If Baker is given Polamalu or Bob Sanders role would rather have Heath playing center fielder than Jones. If Baker playing Earl Thomas or Tyrann Mathieu role than need a bigger hitter in the box than Jones IMO. Byron's strength is sticky man to man coverage, especially against big receivers, even TE's.

Baker will not make it to 28 IMO. 2nd best safety in draft, better than Adams or Peppers.

I disagree...I think they'd make a really good tandem..and baker may not make it to 28..but he's definitely in play..he's not going top 15

Only reason he drops is if measures in below 5'10 and runs a poor 40. Think the Air Marshalls (Budda & Sidney) will wow at combines plus have great tape.

I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if he was BPA when we pick but
1 Byron isn't moving to corner because he sucks at it

2 Church is coming back for the sole purpose of leadership for the secondary. You don't lead on the bench.

He's a liability in coverage. I think you are seriously overrating his leadership skills. Can't be a leader when you are constantly 7 yards behind the guy running into the end zone.
Oh I'm not the one that likes his leadership abilities, Dallas front office does and Walter football said that resigning him is a priority. I'm on record as wanting Wilcox over Church if one of them has to be back.

If the tape measure says BB is 5'9 5/8, do you still like him this much?

Why? Need someone to draw 15 yard penalties? That part of the game is dead and gone man. Obviously he would need to be able to tackle well, but that should be a prerequisite for all defensive players, not just a safety.

I haven't watched a ton on Baker yet, but from what I've seen so far the biggestest question would be how likely he is to stay healthy over the course of an NFL season. He flies all over the field and I haven't seen anything that indicates he will have trouble bringing down RB's in the box. He's pretty exceptional in coverage too, cab easily cover the slot. His NFL.com player comparison is Bob Sanders and I think that could become pretty accurate. Just gotta hope you get more than 2 or 3 prime years out of Baker before (if) he breaks down.

I wonder about his hands. Track guys usually can't catch that great.

I don't think you need an enforcer in the secondary in today's NFL. You need guys who can cover and make plays on the ball.

Always need both, this isn't touch football yet. Legion of Boom isn't some great defense from bygone days. Intimidating physical defenses are feared, even in today's NFL.

In a gladiator sport that will never truly go away. Make plays but make them pay too.

Seattle was good because they could cover and rush the passer. You don't need big hitters in the secondary with the way the game is played now. Covering, tackling and playing the ball are much bigger priorities than someone who lights people up.

I guess Legion of Boom is just a misnomer?

Seattle could do all you say PLUS intimidate with their speed and violence when they arrived at the ball. Can't believe all the flak I'm getting for stating the obvious. You can have both people, settling for less is a Garrett trait. I hate finesse football, gets you no where in the postseason especially.

Budda Baker fits what I'm saying, he is fast, attacks the ball, tackles well/even hard, can play all over the secondary, natural instincts and swag PLUS is a little crazy.
