There is no place for consistent failures like Buehler on this team. Even though this game didn't count for anything, it just goes to show the type of failures that are on this team that cost games.

Cut List:

Beuhler
Newman
Roy Williams
Barber
Barron

He followed up that extra point miss with one of his worst kickoffs of the year too.

Newman gets another week to get it right. Beuhler probably gets an invite to camp because Jerry likes him for some reason.

They rest should be gone/cut when the time is right. You do not want to cut them before the new deal comes out. You want to tie the hands of other teams that may want them.

Beuhler will not be back next season. No more gimmicks of carrying two kickers or trying to convert a guy into something he's not. That kicker from Nebraska would be on my short list (one of the best college kickers ever) and as much as I hate wasting a draft pick on a kicker, it has become such an Achilles heel for this team that I would bite th bullet and get a quality guy that will be here for years to come...One less thing to worry about at least.

FYI, no Kicker puts it in the endzone when the clock is the opponent and you have a small lead. You kick it inside the 10 and make them eat clock on the return. That is standard football strategy. A touchback runs no time off the clock.

I can sympathize but according to JJ
he has the endorsement of CBonio and Decam.

1st year kicker with a ton of upside. Needs to
work on his consistency is what JJ said.

Not going anywhere.

out side of that missed pat i thought hes made great strides as our kicker

he has too much talent to let go. plus he is a popular guy in the locker room so a lot of guys will have his back.

is issue is mechanics, plus he's still relatively new at kicking field goals. give him time.

Of course he has the endorsement of Boniol, he was the last kicker to miss two PAT's for the Cowboys.

Both JJ and RJ have said he doesn't get a pass with this.

If your kicker can't make PAT, you've got a nasty problem on your hands that we've already seen bite us in the ***.

And be a better kicker next year. He's made great strides this year overall. I believe when he doesn't stay calm he overstrides and bingo the kicks are way left. I think the excitement of the touchdown pass had him so pumped up that he couldn't overcome his emotions and thus the missed PAT happened. He will learn to control that emotion in time. He has all the physical tools to be a great great kicker. That 53 yarder would have been good from 63 easily.

Don't cut him, he's one of the few players on the team that actually has an upside.

PS. About 6 hours ago I wanted to cut him to. Now I've calmed down and faced the fact, that if he can learn to control his emotions and keep calm he will be a great great weapon.

You can't cut the 30th best kicker in the league. I mean, where else will you find a guy that makes 77% of his FGs?

They need to have competition in camp but bring Buehler back for that.

Once again, I was perfectly happy with the 2 kickers, I liked pinning guys back on kick offs, and automatic extra points and FG's of 45 or less.

What's Hoffman doing these days?;)

Huh? The guy had no choice but to get much better - he was absolutely dreadful in the pre-season.

As it is, his 77.4% FG percentage is among the worst in the league with only Folk 75%, Dan Campbell 73%, Gano 68% and Lindell 75% rated worse. That is BAD company to be in.

Whenever he is in to kick a FG, I have no expectations from him whatsoever. One kick he can look like a superstar, the next kick he looks like a high schooler out there.

man I agree with you
up to that extra point I was totally geeked about him hitting those long field goals

i think he is like alot like me on the first tee with a driver in my hand!
totally geeked and want to rip it 300 yards
swing out of my shoes and snap hook OB
by the 3rd hole...calm and smooth

He needs to mature mentally
I thought his placement on kick offs was quite good. What was the Cards average starting position on kick offs? It seemed to be about the 17 or so

That being said.......he still doesnt evoke any confidence in me when he steps up to the kick.

On the field goals, did anyone notice his stance seemed to be a little different? To me he seemed in more of a crouch or coil instead of upright. Maybe it was just me

I'm on the cut side now. Just too inconsistent to win a Championship. There are two or three great college kickers coming out this year, that will be kicking in the NFL long after Beuhler is retired or out of the league. One is in Nebraska and one LSU. Draft one of them, and solidify the position for the rest of your life Jerry.

Should have NEVER been put in this situation...a kid that never kicked FGs in college. This is not like some Aussie Rules football player coming in. Do you think maybe Pete Carrol knew something there at USC????????????????
