Rookie of the year! How many touchbacks today? He has to be leading the league.

It's not just the touchbacks, it's the height and directional kicking. Being able to place the ball in the corner of the endzone allows the coverage guys to get down there before the other team can even make it back to the 20!!

Great draft pick...Great draft pick

He probably won't be after Monday night. IIRC, Michael Koenan was leading Buehler going into our game last week and I know Koenan had a couple then too.

I was at the game and had an interesting Beuhler observation.

The cheerleaders were finishing up their routine directly prior to the guys coming out onto the field. Beuhler trotted out early and jogged slowly past the long line of hotties.

By the time he got to midfield each cheerleader was 9 months pregnant.

lol

One thing that is a fact is that, when its 35-10 and the game is virtually over with a whole quarter to go...the cheerleaders are extremely distracting. I have pretty great seats in the new stadium and the cheerleaders are simply amazing looking.

He's currently on pace to shatter the NFL record for touchbacks in a season since they moved to the K-ball. Even then, he might threaten Mitch Berger's pre-K-ball record of 40 (1998). With 17 TBs in 7 games, Buehler is on pace for 39 for the season.

* Note, Mitch Berger went from 40 touchbacks in 1998 to 13 the next season after they introduced the K-ball.

Starting next season, the league will call a 40 yard penalty on kickoffs for anyone who benches more weights than all other the first round picks in their draft.

I was SO ticked off when he was drafted. Now I see the method to the madness! We have never had a kicker have such an impact on a game. and the fact that he is a stud athlete who also plays on coverage packages just enhances his value.
He should really prove his worth next week, as he pins down the Eagles' return men. They have quite a talented return group in Hobbs, Demps, & Jackson. If we can win the STs battle, it may be the difference in the game.

Koenen has 10 touchbacks, so he will need one heck of a game to pass Buehler.

Buehler is making 40.5% touchbacks.

Does anyone know the record for touchback percentage? I honestly don't see why there aren't more kickers with averages like that. Obviously I can't do it, but with a strong enough leg, shouldn't someone be able to kick it out of the back of the end zone frequently? Or does it take more than just brute strength and aim?

I'm definitely glad we drafted him. Special teams has been A+ this year.

7 in one game? I think there is only 1 man who even has a shot to do so...........

He plays for Dallas.

It'd probably be higher if teams didn't get frustrated and start running them out even when they shouldn't.
