Before we start cutting, signing, draft or trade for players, this team needs an IDENTITY. Are we an offensive "juggernut", run predominant/good D or great defensive team? What are we and who are we????
Looking at all the playoff teams and certainly the ones remaining, one thing is CERTAIN. Playing very good to great defense. Without a D, don't think about the post season.
2nd. Win turnover battle. This is our BIGGEST achilles heel this year. We were lucky to win 9 game with our TO ratio is so poor. I don't remember what Parcell said but he gave winning percentage based on positive TO ratio and this stat doesn't lie. Even if you have a better team, you will lose if you give up the ball, just ask Carolina.
3rd. Decent offense is usually sufficient. With exception of Cardinals, none of the remaining playoff teams are high octaned offense. The teams score opportunistically and play field position with their D.
Conclusion:
1. Tony, tony, tony......learn not to turn the ball over!!!!!! Yes, you are the man but......"Hello, McFly.....hello???? anyone home???" No stupid turnovers.......Do not throw it up for grabs!? esp to TO direction, he is NO Larry Fitzgerald.
2. I don't know how it's done in Ten, Balt, Pitt.....Toughen up the mentality of this D. Get into the mentality of scoring and not giving up more than 10 points per game. Think as if your offensive is inept and you have to depend on youself completely.
3. We got the horses, run, run, run....Barber, Felix and Choice. Get our OL to develope the physical mentality to beat the crap out of the other team. Damn, we are certainly big enough. Start Holland already.....The C and 2G weights over 1 ton, lean forward ought to get you 3 yards.
4. Cut TO now, make Roy #1 and tell him to shut up. I don't care if Romo wants to throw to his buddy Witten if he completes 70% of those passes with average of over 8 yard per catch.
5. Jerry....let your coaches coach and stay out of your own way. You are your worse enemy!
