If we couldn't trade down I would take
Decastro
Glenn
Cox
Kuechly
Mercilus
Jenkins
all over Brockers.

Have not watched much LSU football, but if all the scouts love him, I would be ok.

I still think Cox will be the pick and with the 2nd we go with someone like Zeiter from Wisconsin.

I guess the infatuation over Brockers is his potential.

From what I've read, he could play the run pretty well from Day 1, but many scouts appear to believe that he could become a good pass rusher/pressure player from the position as well.

But from what I can make out, Cox seems like the more "sudden" athlete between the two.

I'm sure some of the scouting buffs will have a much more informed opinion on this.

Bunting has a man crush on Brockers. Vela source says the Cowboys like him alot, said to be enamored with his 35 inch arm length. Personally I still do see it. The guys short area numbers (explosion) werent all that hot.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about that.

I'm wondering where they would play him? NT? I just don't see him bringing it off the edge as a 34 DE.

Konz can play a number of positions. More thank likely moved to OG if that happened.

Would rather have a lot of guys before Brockers as well. But he's still very young wont be 22 till december needs to get in better shape and is raw but the intangibles are there for a stud 3-4 de IMO. Also i have come to trust Bunting over the past few years and respect his opinion more than alot of other so called experts out there. Will have a better feel for all these mocks next week after we sign Carr and Nicks :D

I am wary of Brockers,he is one guy who has a potential of being a Carpenter type bust for us.I dont think think they would go with Decastro but I would hope they go with an OLB here.

Also interesting that Poe rose all the way to 9, meanwhile Perry (also a combine champion) sits around till 28 so he can go to the Packers. And the 49ers take another TE that early?

There's so much I disagree with here.

Strong side DE, SPears spot to be another Spears

I am thinking more along the lines of playing 3rd to 4th round abilities, taken rounds early, ahead of guys who end up Pro Bowlers.

Seems to me we'd just be duplicating a problem we've had with Spears the past few years; no pressure off the edge.

Brockers at #14? And people say Jerry doesn't know football...wow....Brockers is a reach at 14

OMG I will vomit if we take Brockers in the 1'st.
i
He was supposed to be 305 and run a 4.9. He shows up at 325 and ran a 5.3

***??? He had two sacks last year! I think he might be a great run stuffing DT in a 4-3. If you want SACKS you are not making him into a 3-4 end that is running a mid 5.3 40. He sucked in almost every friggin drill at the combine. What the hell are we going to do with him? Fatten him up to 350 lbs and try and make a 6'5" nose tackle out of him and pray a lot?

I can list a DOZEN people still on the board I would take over Brockers at 14. Why anyone thinks he is a fit here is just crazy.

Here is a typical Brockers summary "Brockers was clocked at an alarmingly slow 5.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash. This time was the third worst among the 49 defensive linemen tested in Indianapolis this year. The only two defensive linemen with a time more than a hundredth of a second slower than Brockers were Missouri's Dominique Hamilton and Southern Cal's Christian Tupou. As a point of comparison, Brockers is currently rated as NFLDraftScout.com's No. 8 rated prospect overall. Hamilton and Tupou are rated 360th and 378th, respectively.

Think the 40-yard dash time is an anomoly? Think again. Brockers finished among the worst in defensive linemen tested in the vertical jump (26.5"), broad jump (105") and short shuttle (4.81), as well.

Brockers elected to leave LSU with two years of college eligibility remaining. While his statistics were less than jaw-dropping (47 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, two sacks)"

Cowboy

That's sort of the thing with me regarding Brockers. Had he tested-out as just average or mediocre, I'd probably give him the benefit of the doubt. He didn't though. His numbers across the board were all poor. I've been waiting to hear something come out regarding an injury or something from his handlers for damage control. You couple that with ho-hum production at LSU and you have you have yourself a major head-scratcher as to what people are seeing.
