I saw a lot of slipping by our players...They didn't seem as quick as they usually do...Not ready to play at NFL speed after a bye week or not?

But as has been mentioned, Fugy has played in a 4-3 until now, so lets give him, Burnett & everyone else time to gell...WE will need to play with much more energy vs The lions and of course The Broncs on T-day...

I also SEE alot of holding that never seems to be called on our edge players, although we have a TON more false start illegal motion on the other teams offense now...

I think the D needs to be turned loose...
Burnett is a HUGE playmaker waiting to happen, he needs more reps and attacking vs a passive predictable nickle downs as we have been.
If anything has been shown, its that this D can & will make plays if allowed & put in a position to do so...

Lets see more stunts & games...Lets challenge the LOS, lets FORCE more mistakes & HURT QB'S!

I dunno, Burnett dropped that dumb half shovel pass that McNabb practically handed him. Also saw Fujita make a good tackle in coverage.

If Burnett would have caught that it would have been a specatular catch...he did not drop it...he barely got his finger tips on it. Not even to talk about his quick reaction to lay out for it...

PF: Your correct, Burnett made a good play to be even close to the ball, he did NOT drop it...
Look for much more of Mr. Burnett in the weeks to come as he joins the "James Gang"!

Fujita has been dissapointing so far. Fujita repeatedly got beat to the corner. Burnett played well in his limited time, I think its time Burnett begins to take over the starting role

If Fujita is #50 then he was getting blown off the line constantly give the kid a shot. :starspin

Fujita lacks the ability to be a pass rushing threat. You'll rarely see teams use anything other than a TE or a RB to keep him well away from the QB. Getting someone who can consistently make teams pay for using backs and TEs as pass blockers will really open things up for the defense.

We also need an ILB who can blitz up the middle. Bradie James is the only guy doing a decent job in that department, but even he lacks the burst neccessary to close on the QB before the QB has time to get out of the pocket.

Fujita is better than Burnett at this point. Eventually we all hope Burnett's talent takes over and makes him a better player that Fujita, but thats not the case right now.

I disagree entirely. Ball went right through his hand, far as I could tell. Didn't have to react too much, McNabb threw it right into him.

You obviously do NOT have Tivo...I DO. I looked at that play 5 or 6 times before moving on because I thought if he would have caught it we were in a position to get a quick score...it did not go right through his hands...he barely got his finger tips on it.

I don't think Fujita has been disappointing at all.

Having said that let's focus on the thread title topic.

Burnett > Fujita

Exactly how is this bad? In fact I personally think if he can get his game going it just makes this team even better. I want him to be better. I crave it. I want this kid to come through huge for the rest of the year because that means we hit the full house this draft.

He should be better. That just helps the team.

IMO Fujita is doing a fantastic job for us....and I got the below from our Dallas Cowboys web site as one of the unsung heroes of the game.....

Fujita_Scott_150.jpg
Scott Fujita - Starting his first game for the Cowboys, the veteran linebacker was involved in several tackles, getting credited for six Monday night. Fujita started in place of Al Singleton (broken clavicle), who was placed on IR last week with the shoulder injury.

Fujita has played well until the Iggles Game. He got caught inside or was manhandled by the OL almost the entire Iggles game. Shanle didn't play well at all either. Our corners played well along with a few DL, James, RW and Ware. Davis seemed to struggle and be out of position as well.

Whoever said Burnett should have caught that pass, please tell me you are joking. I have TIVO as well and that would have been an amazing catch, the ball was inches from the ground.

I hope Burnett breaks into the starting line up and that Fujita can be used as a pass rusher on 3rd downs.
