Burnett quickly becoming a key piece to the puzzle

It took a bit. I hope he didn't separate a shoulder or something yesterday, with his history of minor injuries delaying his development. But this guy is coming along. He is playing hard and in the right spot alot. He's tackling fairly well, and is a big improvement in pass coverage in many situations. He was flying around on special teams as well.

I think Burnett deserves a lot of credit. He is very noticeable in the game and is having an impact. The coaches deserve credit for putting him out there and using him effectively too.

Isn't this his 3rd year? I think Ware, Burnett, and Spears were all in the same class and worked out together all the time IIRC. Well Spears is starting to make some plays and is very stout on the run. Ware might be the best Defensive Player in the league right now (did you see that diving pass deflection he made? He was robbed on the sack/forced fumble as proven in the that other great post). Burnett is contributing in his unique way too and he'd be hard to replace as we don't have anywhere close to as good a pass coverage LB as him.

His stop at the goalline was AWESOME!. They scored eventually but that stop was great.

Burnett is the main reason why we don't see Bobby Carpenter in the games anymore. What a wasted pick he turned out to be but what a nice choice Burnett is becoming!

Kevin is quickly becoming a strong leader on the field. He is playing his best football we've since yet. He was a captain at Tenn in college and its starting to show now.

Speaking of BC.. was I mistaken that when KB left the game with the injury for a series.. that it was James that came in as the Nickel LB? That says a lot as to where Carp is right now. IMO
