3 of the 4 QB's in the championship games are on their rookie deals. Burrow 3rd year, Hurts 2nd year and Purdy 1st yr. In todays NFL maybe it just doesn't make sense to pay the big number and makes more sense to take a QB every year at some point in the draft just to always be churning the QB roster. In todays NFL you need to spread the money around. Thoughts?
No problem paying a guys like Mahomes, Brady or Rodgers and now Burrow who elevate the guys around them. The problem is, all good QBs become eligible for that level of pay regardless of any drop off in talent. Lots of cap issues* arise when teams have to build an all star team around their overpaid QB.

Well it sure looks like Hurts has easily passed Dak today. Dak looks like complete fraud when compared to these playoff QBs.

and the crazy thing is that Mahomes gave the Chiefs a sweetheart deal on his contract

that dude realizes that he can keep a great roster around him AND be wealthy

hes a class act all the way around.
eh it’s the richest deal in nfl history and with unprecedented long term security. they then shipped out their best playmaker when he was due and haven’t spent big money anywhere

Well up until this point doesn’t seem all that bad does it? Regarding shipping out Hill. It might bite them in SB but you got there without him so it seems at least currently like the right call.

That’s OK he’ll lose
So, the fact that he has gotten there in 50% of his seasons in the NFL is no accomplishment?

You know you could just say you don't like him but acknowledge his talents. Would be easier on your credibility.

Credibility. I’ve been a cowboy fan before you were born. I don’t need anyone’s approval or disapproval. I am an individual that can think for himself. Not to mention other professional athletes that agree with me.

oh right it was a good call, they're run well. I'm just saying that his deal doesn't necessarily directly correlate to increased spending elsewhere (so far)
