Giants QB Eli Manning was the 25th-rated quarterback in the NFL this season with a passer rating of 73.9. That's the exact same passer rating posted in 2006 by Grossman, whose dynamic with that Bears team is similar to Manning's with the Giants. -- Chicago Tribune

Id say Manning is quite a bit better than Grossman though. Hes more competent.

IMO Eli is considerably better than Grossman. Eli was efficient during the playoffs but still had the ability to make the throws when needed. More importantly his coaches trust him to do so. The way Grossman is playing, I would not trust him to win the game. He needs to manage it and not be the reason they lose.

Gotta give E. Manning the credit he is due.

He went on the road, and beat the Bucs, our Cowboys & the Packers.

I think he did that without a turnover.

What's not to like about that performance?

I agree. He went out and avoided his usual mistakes throwing the costly ints and did so on the road. You don't have to like the guy but his performance in the playoffs speak for themselves. 4 TD passes, 0 ints, 62.4% completion rate and 99.1 QB rating

The whole bus driving theory is only for a coach who doesn't want to have to deal with a QB in the lime light. The fact is, whether it is for a 4 game stretch (in the playoffs), or it is the guy's regular level of performance, teams don't normally go anywhere in the playoffs without solid QB play.

The more you watch the NFL the more you will realize, it is about the QB, it really is.

I agree that poor play from a QB will cost you quicker than any other position on the field. I don't think a QB has to put up big time numbers for his team to win but yes he must play a solid game.

Yes, and in every game there are key plays that a QB will have to make in order for his team to win. 3rd down conversions. Correct reads. Clock management.

True. Like I said though the QB does not need to put up big numbers. I think that is why it took Elway and Manning so long to get the big one as they were out there forcing passes and trying to do more than what they needed to and it cost their teams. Last season Manning was more willing to take what the defense gave him and with the running game he was not throwing as much as in past post seasons. In the end as important as the QB is it is still a team game and no one man can do it by himself and you find you cause more problems for your team when you trying and do too much.
