Brees threw for almost 500 yards and 4 TDs, including TWO to take the lead in the final four minutes, and people are seriously using this game as evidence to support the position that he ISNT a truly great QB?

Never been a fan of Gregg Williams or his defense. He might want to give Fish a call about that Rams DC job.

Brees did a pretty outstanding job despite being hassled every other throw.

Who knew Alex Smith had that in him to come back like that. I sure didn't.

Drew Brees played well enough to win the game. had the lead with less than 2 minutes to play. His defense let him down.

Stupid title...Brees led his team back into the lead twice in 4th quarter against one of the best defenses in the league, despite the best special teams pinning them deep over and over.

Well it appears that after reading a bunch of threads this morning there are about 4 or 5 threads that are competing for "dumbest thread ever." Requirements...someone needs to post the words "dumbest thread ever."

We are up to 5 in the hunt. Will there be a wildcard? Can the Athletic TE thread hold off the I thought Brees was the best QB ever thread in a battle of the most high powered dumb in the league. Can Garretts 63 passes thread pull out an upset and win it all?

The SF D forced Brees into some mistakes and turnovers. Kept the game close. And to his credit Alex Smith played the game of his career. BUT what really happened was that the NO D could not get it done when it mattered.

Those who claim you can win a title with only offense should think about this game

What that game proved is that great offense beats great defense any day of the week. The niners have an amazing defense, yet when it mattered most, they had no prayer of stopping brees and the saints offense.

I know they forced some turnovers, but the saints were able to move up and down the field on them. If not for shooting themselves in the foot and a couple bad throws by brees, the saints run away with it.
