Butterflies

I've noticed as the days go by this week I've had an increasingly stronger pain in my gut occur. Sunday and Monday I was feeling great, confident and just straight up awesome......tuesday and now wednesday the butterflies are starting to kick in....I'm so nervous for this game. The importance of this game is so monumental. Knocking off the Eagles for payback from last year AND getting the monkey off our back that's been there since 1996 shows just how huge this game is. I just hope that the 'Boys don't let the pressure get to them.....

I'm planning a huge BBQ and get together for the game and just hope all goes well....I'm sure it will!

But my question to y'all is this: Has anyone else noticed the butterflies starting to come on as the week goes by? Ugh, it's gut wrenching! lol

Hell,

I have had the butterflies and the sickness in my gut since Sunday Night, LOL, after the game. Confident to a point. But, still, and I never thought I would say this, but, it's still the Cowboys.

Just depends on which Cowboys team shows up.

I know right?? It's the most confidence we've had in our team going into the playoffs since the 90's. Even in '07 the 'Boys were going into the offseason with a poor December performance. So IMO this is the year for us finally to go deep. But that damn 1996 monkey still is in the back of our minds taunting us.

This is what's great about football though.......

I have the same butterflies which I believe is normal for the fans who really care about the team.

It has been so long since we won a playoff game....as fans, we need our "mojo" back like we had in the 90s.

Go Cowboys!

I'm with ya, .. I've actually had to try to avoid most of the stuff on TV, and the Net. I get the feeling in my stomach that you are talking about.

Straight up, I think we are the better team and will prevail on Saturday, .. but I have been watching football long enough to realize nothing is guarenteed.

It is better for me to try to forget about it until Saturday.

All day Saturday will be nuts!!

Naturally, being a fan since the 60's, I want to win this game real bad, .. but I would also just like it for Tony and Wade so they can get away from the abuse they take about never winning a playoff game.

I have the same feeling. I am uneasy about this game. This generation of Dallas Cowboys has teased us multiple times before.

In the old days (late 70s-early 80s) I was always very confident. I was also confident in the early 90s group. This group not so much. Of course, I am hoping intensely for the best.

In total agreeance with winning so Wade and Tony will lose some of the abuse they receive.

The only problem. It won't ever go away . It's just the way it's gonna go with these two. Much easier to write something negative about something positive either of these two do. They can't win with the media, and never will. It will always be something.

"Why didn't they do this 2 years ago? "
"Sure they won, but, they still left points on the field and that is a concern".

"Romo went out on the Miami strip before winning the MVP and Super Bowl" HOW COULD HE!!!!. "

Crap like that. It will never change.

The more the Cowboys are talked up, the worse I feel. Ideally, I'd like to hear more people saying they have no shot or that they have doubts that they will get it done. Most people are saying they're going to win, only the die hard haters are picking them to lose the game. That definitely makes me uneasy because we've been in te front runner position and fallen on our faces so many times.

If Romo can win, he'll be a media darling rather than a whipping boy. I keep saying this, but I don't know why Dallas fans expect people to throw themselves at the feet of a perceived choker and a guy that just flat out hasn't gotten it done.

You said it all. Fortunately on Saturday, I have to work in the morning, so that will occupy some of my thoughts. But starting Saturday afternoon, I'll be on pins & needles. Like someone said, that's what real fans do.

Yea, I am nervous as hell right now. I went out to dinner last night with my girlfriend and all I could think about was the game Saturday.

I think the problem is that most of us diehards remember watching all 6 consecutive playoff losses and we are naturally worried the team is going to lay another egg this year.

I think 07 was the worst for me. Losing at home to the G-men after having homefield locked up was just pure torture. We just pissed away a golden opportunity and who knows when the next time we will be the number 1 seed again. Now I know the last couple of SB winners were not number 1 seeds, but dam it sure is alot easier path than having to win road games in the playoffs.

Man, when I think about what is going to be said if we lose.......we are going to be labeled the biggest chokers in league history. No NFL team has ever lost 7 consecutive playoff games, none. We would set an NFL record for playoff futility and the media would be on that story like dogs on raw meat. Dam, that just cant happen, we just cannot let that happen.

Because he's OUR choker. And he has had help in that department starting from the coaches to other players.

You must of been one of the folks that wanted to run Aikman outta town in his early years as well, no?

I'm very nervous. It's only Wednesday...

Thank God the game is on Saturday. I've tried to be neutral. I've tried not to care so much just in case we don't get it done. I will be so devastated if we lost and I don't want to feel that ever again. So...we have to win! :)

This is a good thing.
It's good to have so much emotion about something you can't control, even if it's fear.
That's what being a fan is all about. If you don't stress over the fact that the outcome is unknown, then you don't care.
How can you enjoy the highs if you are incapable of suffering from the lows.

I was also nervous before last Sunday. That game was huge just to set up closing out the season, winning the division and setting up this game right.

I'm nervous as hell due to what a loss would mean, the drought and the hated opponent. It would be devastating...

what I don't have is fear though. ... it's nervousness mixed with confidence and excitement. I think we not only have their number this year, but that we're also the better constructed team, better balanced, and healthier. Doesn't mean we'll win, but I like this team and I TRUST them.
