Of course it's very arbitrary, very subjective.
Having said that, there seems to be a pattern, and not equable.
Four offensive player are in for every defensive player. Not one dedicated punter is in (Blanda does not count.)
Coaches: The SB victories for sure. Maybe 15+ seasons - making the playoffs 85% of career, with one SB victory or three SB appearances.
QBs: Similar SB criteria as coaches. No SB victories, must have passing stats rivaling all time greats. At least five Pro Bowl invites.
RBs: At least 10,000 yards. At least five Pro Bowl invites.
