Bye Bye Philadelphia Eagles

I would like to take this time to wave goodbye to the Philadelphia Eagles. Not even 3 months ago all we heard was how this team was gonna dominate this year and runaway with the NFC East. They were labeled the dream team and now with about a month left in the season they sit at 4-7 all but mathematically eliminated from playoffs contention.

Yep, and I was a blind homer for saying they would not live up to the standard being raised.

I was glad when we did not land Nnamdi. Too much $$ for a 30 year old corner. One more loss and I will say the Eagles are dead.

As Dungy said you can't buy chemistry. The teams that make the biggest splash in FA are not the teams going to the SB.

We lucked out not getting him. What a terrible contract that is.

I wish that poster "Nnamdi Asomugha" didn't get banned earlier this season. He was on you with a guarantee that the Eagles would go to the superbowl and gloated about landing Asomugha. I would really love to know what he thinks of his beloved eagles now.

While I'm delighted the Birds are in their predicament, they have actually pretty much dominated the NFC East beating each team and totally emasculating our D, too bad the rest of the NFL can beat them. Here's hoping they do fire Reid, I think he's a one of the top coaches in the league...firing Reid will set back that franchise.

Considering our secondary has been largely atrocious this year I would still have liked to have gotten Nnamdi. Whatever his play has been, its still light years ahead of what Ball has done.

That said I didn't fear the Eagles that much because of Vick. Whatever magic carpet ride he was on the first half of last year is over, and he's a $100M albatross now. Heck the equally terrible Vince Young may take his job at this rate.

Our starters have not played but a couple of games with each other and we have had to make due with guys like Walker and Ball. I agree Nnamdi is better than Ball but Ball is not signed to a ridicules contract.

Philly may have been better off going for a lesser CB and get LB that can actually play

The Eagles definitely should have targeted LBers in FA. Not sure who was available but they need help.

You want to spend 13 million a year or whatever it was to upgrade Alan Ball's role on this team?

Nick Barnett was out there. They had no interest.

I wouldn't give you a bag of kicking tees for their LBs.

He's an upgrade to what Newman or Jenkins have contributed too.

Maybe not a $13M upgrade, but I would like to see what he would do with Rob Ryan at DC instead of an OL coach. He has been horribly mis-used in Philly.

No is not, he has not done much in Philly. They have given up more big plays this year than last. Fact is if some of you would put these other players under the same microscope you put our guys under you may find these other players do not live up to the grand expectations.

Excellent! I encourage everyone to go check that video out. It is well worth your time...

I bet Nnamdi would be playing better in Dallas this year. He would be playing more Man coverage and Rob would have him playing loose.

I don't mind the Eagle's implosion a bit.

How well do you think Hudson Houck would utilize Nnamdi as compared to Rob Ryan? Just a little something to mull over. Regardless, I like our salary cap situation the way it is as opposed to having that contract riding with us.
