As soon as the season is over, I expect Ryan will be given his walking papers. That is, if Jerry's as smart as he thinks he is.

Ryan has never been any good anywhere he's been. He sold Jerry on his rough and tumble attitude his brother has, but he ain't got. The Giants looked like they knew what was coming and when. That's the kind of thing that doomed Wade.

His defense has collapsed in the two most important division matchups to date. It will be interesting to see how it does against Philly Christmas eve.

Anyhow, It's looking like Spagnuollo is going to get canned in St Louis. If Jerry doesn't look him up right away, you can bet Philly is going to be all over him.

Personally, I'd like to see them go back to the 4-3, but that's another post.

Doesn't Spags run the 4-3?

My money is on the Eagles.

The Eagles would serve themselves well to keep Reid and try and hire Spags for DC.

But it's Philly. They listen to the fans, even when the fans are dumb.

I wouldn't be so quick to send Ryan packing. I think he's going to be here for a little while.

Seriously? If so, you're delusional. I estimate the odds of that happening as somewhere between zero and none. He might leave, but only if he gets a better offer.

I could see Spagnuolo returning to either Philadelphia or New York. The Eagles could really use someone like him.

Yeah, you're probably right. Too bad. He has probably already pleaded his case with Jerry that the lack of talent, lack of training camp, and lack of time has been a detriment to his wonderful skills, and talent as a DC.

I'm not sure I want to see him back, but frankly, Jerry is easily swayed when it comes to coaching talent.

Don't be so quick to throw Ryan out just because the players on D aren't any good. Assuming this off season will be D heavy, lets see what he does then.

I'd like to see Rob Ryan get a full offseason to work his stuff in with minicamps and training camps and with some upgrades to the defense.

Much like with Jason Garrett I think people are just way to impatient, and for whatever silly reason think that simply changing out coaches each and every year is a good idea. It's not a good idea. It's a terrible idea.

With this ****ty defense I really don't think Spagnuolo would do any better. Ryan deserves alot of heat, but deserves some credit for at least making the defense better with no big additions. Last year the defense gave up nearly 28 points a game. That's 4 touchdowns a game this year only 3. Sure they're not great or even good, but at least not all time bad like last season. Ryan has just been very unlucky he's just never had alot of defensive talent. Last season we were at the bottom of the league in defense this year we're at least middle of the pack.

Ryan is not going anywhere, if anything has been proven, it's the players who are the problem. Different coaches same results. What does that tell you? You could probably bring Tom Landry re-incarnated and he wouldn't be able to do anything with these players.

Just a few weeks ago this site along with the 'Great Dallas Media' had him taking a HC job somewhere and the question of the 'moment' was, "who is going to replace Rob Ryan when he takes the job at Jacksonville"....

At some point you would think fans and the media would allow a 'situation' to fully bake before making 'instant invaluations'.

Some people want to legalize pot; I would like for people to gather a majority of the facts prior to opening their mouths (or banging on the keyboard).

Sadly, this country has a better chance of the former as the later is not likely to happen in the next 500 million light years.:bang2:

What do you expect final judgment is based on the moment for many.

I think JJ already knows all those reasons. And even though I tend to agree with them. I'm not so sure I want him back either.

But my reasoning is more, why have him put a defense in place that needs several years of fine tuning, just to see him leave and then we start all over again. That was my concern at the time they hired him, but at the same time was glad they did, to have a real Mr. Fix It.

But that's not turning out so great yet either. Maybe he needs better tools....:laugh2:

I agree. But I don't have to like it!

I agree with this; I don't think he has done enough with this defense to have GMs blowing up his phone. He'll be with Dallas for at least another season.

I'm not so sure that Ryan is the problem; the problem is the minimal number of impact players in their defensive personnel. Outside of Ware, Lee, and maybe Ratliff, the Cowboys have a defense filled with JAGS. And yes, I am aware of Ryan talking up his defensive unit to be greater than they actually are, but I'm willing to bet that he's done this with every defense he has coached.

The defensive personnel needs a serious purging in the offseason if they expect the Cowboys to become a legitimate contender.

We are 16th in points allowed and 24th in passing yards allowed.

I highly doubt he gets a HC job offer with these stats, so yea he probably is going to be here another year like it or not.

Why? He hasn't even been on the job for one year. No offseason, training camp, preseason to work with the players.

You start firing asst coaches like that and you won't get anyone to come here.

Exactly....some people act like he had all the time in the world to get "his" system implemented.

All that I am asking for is him being around long enough to implement it so that we can see what he REALLY is.
