Round 1: Paxton Lynch, QB Memphis

Lynch has been rising and an upset over Ole Miss helps solidify himself as a Day 1 prospect. Good size, rocket arm, needs work on his footwork. Great candidate for development

Round 2: Alex Collins, HB Arkansas

Reminds me a bit of a cross betweem Yeldon and Coleman from last year. Yeldons vision and power and Colemans burst though the hole. A better runner them both IMO, but he may not be a 3 down back yet

Round 3: Vonn Bell, FS OSU

May or may not declare, but if he does he looks like a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Looks the part of the productive insticinctive playmaking FS. You have to wonder if he is legit or a product of OSU's talent. However in Dallas he should have a strong cast around him

Round 4: Pharaoh Cooper, WR, SC

This could be too low for Cooper who could possibly be a day 2 guy. However Cooper looks to be a guy who can play all WR positions and could possibly push Williams next year

Comp. Round 4: Luther Maddy DT, VT

Maddy is the type of DT we would draft in the first 4 rounds. In the NFL he looks to be a bit of a cross between a 3 and a 1 Tech. Good pressure player, but I don't know if he is a legit NFL 3 Tech. He looks more like a Tampa 2 1 Tech to me. He should provide penetration from the 1 Tech spot in base D

I have my heart set on Elliott or Henry in the first round.
Alex Collins is a great second round choice though if it means the Cowboys get a solid QB prospect in the first round.

I never heard of Paxton Lynch until this week. I will have to read up on him and look at some video .

I think Elliott may go to high for us, especially with Gurley killing it. Henry IMO should be very much in the mix for our first rounder. I considered him with Kiel in the 2nd, but choose against it because we would lose the 5th year option on a QB which is huge IMO

Gurley's success this year probably won't effect where Elliott is drafted. It comes down to draft grades and team needs.

For example, should the Cowboys be at 8 or 10 but Elliott has a lower grade then we gave Gurley, you don't say "we have to draft Elliott because Gurley killed it last year" IMO. True with any position.

I see what your say, but Gurley will make it less likely a HB slips because the position is devalued like guys like Gio, Lacy, and Hyde who were considered possible first rounders

Elliott wont go as high. He isnt quite the prospect Gurley was. But he will be rated in the top 15 and will go top 15. Whereas before Gurley top 15 overall at HB might slip to the bottom of the first because the position is "devalued"

I have a good feeling he goes somewhere between 14th and 18th pick. About where we will be picking if we just miss winning the division( i dont want to tank if we are just 3-6 by the time Romo is back.)

If we are in the range, Elliott is at the top of my list

The worst thing we can do is reach for a QB in a panic move based off Romo getting hurt. I don't know much about any of the QBs yet and Lynch may end up being steal when the draft comes, but we need to take the right QB not just any QB if we go that route.

I agree 100%. If he is in range u make the move for him. Elliot in the 1st, QB in the 2nd, and Safety or WR in the 3rd round will be a home run draft for me.

If we land Elliott, I would look for a guy like Gunner Kiel or possibly Carson Wentz in the 2nd

no one is talking about James Conner as a viable option at RB especially if we can snag him in the late second or third round. He is gonna be a beast, great size, decent speed and runs the ball with aggression on every snap.

Lynch and his coach Fuente have probably made themselves more money than anybody this fall. Lynch shooting up draft boards and USC amongst others looking at Fuente.

Yesterday VS Ole Miss was huge for Lynch

No offense, but I am not wasting a #1 pick on a raw, developmental QB, especially one that's just rocketing up the draft boards. 2nd or 3rd round, maybe.

But on a team that has small window to compete beyond this one, you need to get a first rounder that you can add to the starting roster and make an impact - a TB, a WR opposite Dez, a CB, a S, a DT.

Not a project QB, IMO.

Cardale Jones would be a project. Lynch would be an investment
