Playing Jones at cornerback is like playing Martin or Collins at tackle. Sure you can do it, but they can definitely be dominant if given the chance at a difference position. I think that for Jones that position is definitely safety. I don't think he is a corner back. To ask him to carry receivers downfield is a bit too much. That's something it looked like he struggled to do in college as well. Tight ends are one thing, but these wide receivers just get too much separation on him.

I hope Claiborne can return for the Panthers game, we'll certainly need Jones to cover Greg Olsen. I still can't piece together why they released Corey White, highlighting the fact that letting Moore go was a mistake (at least without properly addressing the position).

We're also going to need great performances out of both McClain and Sean Lee here to stop Cam Newton. The Panthers are undefeated, but their record is deceiving. They haven't beaten anyone impressive this year. Even in blasting the Commanders, you can see the Commanders turned the ball over 5 times. If this offense line can protect Romo and we play a clean game, we should beat them.

Cam Newton if behind or in trouble will throw interceptions. We've got to get up early on this team and take them out of the game early and force him to throw his way back into the game.

He struggled but he's twice the corner Mo is or for that matter Carr too. He has wheels and can tackle which is half the battle.

I think Jones will be a great FS for a couple of years and then move to CB when needed - and play very well. He is playing well right now on raw talent and high intelligence, when he has experience he will be able to play anywhere in the secondary at a very high level.

Not sure why people can't just be happy with a stud FS. No one ever said hey Ed Reed let's play you at corner. A great free safety can change your entire secondary. Not difficult to find a good strong safety at all and I feel as though you can get by on corners who at least play the ball. Something we have never really brought in here.

I think he can play slot corner. The problem for us is we badly need safety play because Heath is our best safety right now besides Jones.

It's just a lot to ask for anybody to play safety and slot corner and then start playing FS more of the time and then say 'hey, we'll need you to play RCB this week.' There's a lot of technique and prep that goes into that and we're asking a rookie to do that which I wasn't exactly happy with the coaching staff doing. The one big pass was good coverage, but a perfect throw which beats perfect coverage. The second big pass you could see where not getting enough reps hurt him.

But, IMO, I wouldn't have a problem with him playing slot corner if we had another good safety. We could go with him in the slot and Heath and the new safety or specifically have Jones on great pass catching TE's or big WR's like Alshon Jeffery types. That would be a little more reasonable for his abilities and experience. But instead, we still have Barry Church out there who is good for giving up 1 TD a game.
