If Jerry & Stephen were serious about making a SB run with this offensive firepower he should have made these moves in the secondary to shore up the defense:

1. Keep Byron Jones, he's 17 mill against the cap this year in MIA and cut Crawford saved 9 mill
2. Pay the freight and trade for Jamal Adams..he's a game changer 10 year pro bowl-All pro type player, 2 #1's and a 3/4th rounder over two years? and he's 3/mill this year. Done no questions asked.

How do we pay for it? We have 23 million in cap room, Crawford is dead weight at 9 million=32 million, also we could have signed Prescott and saved more this year. There are several other contracts that can be re-structured like A.Cooper's to save another 7-8 million. Those two back end players change the entire defense and make our front 7 better. The front office failed big time, we have the worst defense I can remember.

Ehhhhhh....a few things.

Byron Jones is hurt right now. He was apart of this mess last year and he can't stop teams from running on us.
Jamal Adams plays for the Seahawks....a defense not quite as bad as our but quite bad.
That Jamal Adams trade was stupid and Seahawks will regret it if they don't get a ring out of it.

If Cowboys were serious about making a SB run they would've had better defensive drafts than they have had the past few years.

Its a tough one. Those two guys probably give us a league average defense at this point, but now you're strapped for cash, and have no high picks to either trade or acquire talent. Also how do you afford dak with those two contracts on the books for 2021? You cant let him walk without at least having a #1 pick next draft.

It would be great for 2020, a disaster for 2021 on

Byron was banged up in MIA not Dallas..groin strain no big deal. Btw Byron was our draft pick we let him walk

It would have been tight for 2021 but could have been done. Not many contenders have cap space

It wouldn't have matter if we had Byron Jones, Jamal Adams, Josh Allen, Marcus Allen or Byron Allen.

What you witnessed today and the past 25 years is a CULTURAL FAILURE.

It's not changing until you sweep this organization clean from top to bottom, and that aint happening.

So get used to massive underachievement by the Cowboys regardless who we draft or sign.

I was told that safeties dont matter and that we were better off with Woods because he had 4 career interceptions than Adams who has only two.

Cant disagree

Byron is a nobody. I dont know why some people wish he were still here. Is he better than Jaylon? Yea, if thats what you want to argue but hes nothing special and I'm glad hes gone.

Well what's on the field right now is the worst defense in history. We have limited window with Zeke and aging O-line..should have went all in

There's a trickle down effect here, and it comes back to the draft.

If the Cowboys hit on the Taco Charlton pick in 2017, D-Law could have walked. Charlton was an epic bust and we all know TJ Watt was available, but that's a different story. As for Byron Jones; the Cowboys might have hit on a similar talent in Trevon Diggs. A bit more raw than Jones, but the talent is there; and we'll have him for three more seasons at a fraction of the cost.

And in 2019; picking Trysten Hill over a safety was another fail. Hill is starting now but he's still just a JAG. Dallas hasn't had a safety that can make a play in almost two decades and I have no idea why they are so averse to finding help at that position.

Finally, there's a list of bad contracts given out recently; Crawford, D-Law, Jaylon. I'm reluctant to say Zeke because at the time he was the centerpiece of the offense. Now he's a supporting cast member it seems.

Maybe, it seems like teams find ways, but i see $25MM in space for 2021, not including dak. That's seems tough to figure out.

Some cuts and re-structures need to happen..we have 23 million in cap room rolling over plus were paying guys like Tyrone Crawford 10 Mill who have no impact on the field. Several contracts have large re-structures built in..it could have been done.

S Tony Jefferson left the Colts without a contract, can't be any worse than what we have playing now. Bring in anyone with a pulse, heck see if Randy White, Too Tall Jones, Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters want to still play.

This team got wupped in the trenches to the trenches to the tune of 307 rushing yards. If that doesnt get fixed, the back seven doesnt matter.

Byron was soft. But I would have made the trade for Adams. lamb is good but Brown and Wilson would’ve done fine as WR 3 and 4. Adams is exactly the type of alpha player we need.

Tight ?
Do you know we already restructured 3 contracts to sign dak next year ? And we are still in need of money for him.

And do you really think this team would be able to content with Adams and Jones ?

Sorry. Teams are running over us. And our offense cant score in the important part of the game.
