Byron Jones says Jaylon & Taco are both balling out of control

I'm worried that he'll have so many sacks that no one else on the defense will be allowed to shine...but seriously, I worry about consistency as well but I do believe the talent is there and if he can attach himself to Rod and learn to continuously hone his craft and apply max effort, he'll at worst be a serviceable NFL 3 down lineman. I think the upside is much, much higher than that though.

I truly hope you're right.

& since Byron has given me zero reason to not trust him, I will revel in this wonderful news. Please join me.

I love your awesome perspective.

Let's hope Charlton lives up to his billing, because a soft Taco is no Bueno...

Meanwhile, I was happy to see this red-zone defense they've drawn up for Jaylon:

Byron comes off as a serious guy who wants to win. Not too many college players out there that can come in and play cornerback in the NFL and still be a physical tackler. I like him as a free safety, Darren Woodsen's old position. I think he has some traits in common, physicality of a safety, speed and finesse of a cornerback.

I think he is one of the more unappreciated guys in the NFL and a cool secret for Cowboy fans. But not for long.

As for his comments about his teammates, what did you expect him to say? I'm sure it's genuine, but it's no deep analysis of their performance in minicamp. Most NFL guys are smart enough to go along with the interview and agree with any accolades given their teammates. I would be more interested in his opinion of the 2nd and 3rd draft choices in the secondary squad.

Church, Carr and to some extent Scandrick had limited range last season. Jones compensated for those players which is what allowed them to be better in coverage than 2015 despite a similar pass rush.
