I'm not in favor of it, but if they want him for special teams, I understand it. I just think you've eventually got to ditch players like him who add nothing at their position in order to create depth. If Lewis goes to IR, then our playable corner depth is Awuzie, Brown, Diggs and Worley. That's not terrible, but I really don't want any possibility that Goodwin could see the field except on special teams. He's a liability in coverage on defense. Frankly, I'd rather see us add Carr.

They must be eyeing a good 3 or 4 outside free agents (Carr and who else?) to be making these moves then.

They're trying to add guys to the 53 today, knowing that 3 guys (Collins, Lee, and Lewis) will be going to the IR tomorrow, and are risking losing Goodwin and March (not really a risk to me at all) to do it.

Collins and Lee are for March and Goodwin to return.

Carr likely goes to PS until they see what to do with Lewis. I imagine Lewis goes to the IR and Carr moves to the 53.

Seems like reports are saying Goodwin and March were released to help keep talent on the 53

i don't like the club's LB depth plan at all... seems like a jigsaw puzzle from the get go.

i'd rather give new special teams coach Bones Fassell as much specialists as possible - even if that means teeth nashing for
the defense useless Justin March.

With Ventell Bryant and CJ Goodwin, you need guys like that to make that critical stop on punt returners - i've seen those 2 guys down there making
stops in the returners track, ..

They cant find a gunner that has an upside as a DB?

They have to bring back the supposed best guy from last year's disaster?

Maybe he was the valedictorian of the special class, but they should have been able to do better.

If he does return, that comes with knowing that the rest of the league felt better about their ST without him. He isnt that good at it, and isnt a developmental player in any other regard.
