Between the two players who do you prefer?

The draft gurus generally seem to prefer C Jordan. But Watts productivity on the field has been superb.

Both tested very well at the Combine as well.

Or is this a case of 1A and 1B?

This is hard, Watt might have better number but he wasn't a DE in a 3-4 like Jordan was and 3-4 DE don't put up as many stats.

But watching them both I liked Watt better. Jordan is more of the athlete but Watt is more of a football player. I think both are very similar and it would almost be a coin flip. 3-4 DE aren't a hugh player and I would much rather get one in the mid rounds.

I actaullay like Jared Crick more than both of these guys tp bad he is going back to college for another year.

I think I'd probably go with Watt. He's a little bigger but he's a lot stronger and has much better short area quickness in his game. He has excellent feet.

I much prefer Watt.

For me it's not only about physical attributes. Watt is stronger and quicker, Jordan is probably the better athlete but Watt brings a lot of intangibles Jordan has yet to display.

He's a leader in the locker room, a great humanitarian that's involved in several volunteer programs, he has a maturity level that would be hard to match by any prospect while Jordan has been labeled as "childish", his motor can not be matched.

The skills on the field are not that far apart between the two but Watt brings so much more.

 Excellent description of Watt. I believe he and the attitude he brings is exactly what our defense needs and what Rob Ryan is looking for.

He did post much better short area quickness at the combine. Jordan had better timed 40 but 20 and 10 were almost identical while the three cone and shuttle were substantially better for Watt. I was actually pretty surprised at this but there they were.

Broad Jump, Veritical Jump, 20 split, 10 yard split, 3 cone drill...........he made surpassed Jordan on all of them. All display explosion and quickness.

The difference between the two is Jordan is a chaser, Watt is a closer.

You can see it on tape, you can tell Watt is quicker but Jordan again is much more of an athlete.

I have to admit that I was surprised by Watts numbers compared to Jordans as well. But Watts background was at TE I believe, so he probably is a better athlete than many Defensive lineman.

Guy has no quit in him. He's not a DT but he kinda reminds me of Howie Long back when Howie came out. Same kind of intensity about him.

I like Jordan, but I'd take Watt over him. More of a sure thing.

I like both. I think Jordan goes 1st though.

If we fill some holes in FA, I wouldn't mind trading down around 15 and selecting Watt.

That's a true toss-up in my mind. I think both players are very talented and are going to make good players.

Watt had a better vertical jump, broad jump, three cone drill, and 20 yard shuttle, being near the top of the list for all those categories. Jordan had a faster 40 yard dash.

The parts previous to the bolded would seem to indicate otherwise?

That's where the combine is a slippery slope.

Track stars are not all great athletes and not all great athletes are tracks stars.

I mean let's face it, Larry Allen was probably one of the most athletic offensive lineman to ever play the game yet he looked sloppy, he was never going to burn up the track and his agility times were less then pedestrian.

Good point. How many track stars are good 3-4 DEs? Remember the Boys would be picking a 3-4 DE. Although speed is nice, I would want my 3-4 DE be able to stuff the run 1st, and sack the passer 2nd.
