Call Jonathan Cooper!

That was the rookie's first game, without Fredbeard. It wasn't great, but I'm not sure Cooper's the answer since he is still bouncing around teams.

Let's let rookies be rookies.

They won't change no matter what. This offense is doomed.

Good choice!
It couldn't be more horrifying than what I watched.
:omg:
I hope to read some explanations tomorrow, but nothing will truly excuse 8 damn points.
Did Zeke play? What happened? I was in salsa dancing ecstasy...
Gorgeous women... Nice guys... Great cause... Super-gorgeous women...

I thought I was the one that was missing out and it was you guys!

Longhorn fan I guess.

Williams wasn't good at all. He was on skates all game. You can't have a guy on your line that can't hold up to a straight bull rush. And right now, he can't.
Tar Heels fan and yes I love Cooper.

That being said I agree he struggles with the bull rush. But he doesn't trust his technique, he is very solid in the run and handles speed decent. Right now his issue is like you said power but there was a few times he handled the bull rush. He starts lunging and then gives up ground.

Only way he will learn is to play and I can live with a couple mistakes until he learns. He seems to get better every rep but really needs improvement with strength

You were the lucky one!

I don't see how he gains that "strength" soon enough to make a difference this season. And if he's struggling with the bull rush, that's all he's going to see. And the worst thing for Dak, or any quarterback, is pressure up the middle in his face.

If he continues to struggle, this entire offense will continue to struggle as well. And the pressure he gives up could ultimately result in the quarterback getting injured too. If and when that happens, we're completely dead. If nothing else, Cooper isn't going to get thrown back in the quarterback's lap. He can anchor.

My fault I didn't mean he would gain strength, that will come in the offseason. What I meant by that is better technique can over come the bull rush. I'm all for having Cooper come back and our offense seemed to get better last year when he stepped in as starter. I just don't think Connor is bad as some think. He isn't losing every rep but does from time to time

Stop it!!!!
The dude got manhandled all preseason also and these Connor Williams apologist said the same crap.
Let’s face facts...the dude just isn’t very good...will he be good someday...how do we know...that’s for the coaches to figure out...but today he isn’t very good. He isn’t NFL starter caliber Today..

It sucks but why pretend it’s not the case...

Nobody ever said he was "losing every rep".

We like our guys.

But serioolusly, why not? We have plenty of cap scape and our oline is in bad shape right now. Guy already knows the system.

Watch us sign Chaz green
Don't think cap has anything to do with it. They let him walk without even attempting to resign him. What he signed for in Frisco was insignificant enough for them to walk away from. Something about Cooper that limited them enough that they're not interested and it's not money!

Willliams is a concern but the other side of the coin is that Kawaan Short does that to everyone. And there will be a huge difference with him playing next to Fred instead of Looney.

Like I said before the game, you make the right choice!

Cooper was OK but that was partially because he played between Tyron and Fred. He had no upside and significant health concerns, which is part of the reason the 49ers cut him. Williams got beat several times today but we are much better off with him starting instead of Cooper.

But it hasn't just been Kawaan Short. Williams has struggled against the bull rush against most opponents he's faced.

There will also be a huge difference between having a guard who can anchor vs the one we currently have who can't.
