I like Dareus as a NT only, I think at 320 he can play NT, I don't like him as a DE. So if we go Dareus at 9 then he will be the NT with Ratliff moving to RDE and Igor to LDE.

But I think Jerry will either trade a player and the 9th pick and next years 2nd and move up for Peterson, well I don't really that will happen.

What I think will really happen is Jerry will trade back to 12, Vikings will trade up for Newton. Then at 12 Dallas will then trade back to 17-18 and pick Castanzo.

Then Jerry will package multiple picks and move back into the bottom of the 1st and get Brandon Harris.

H-m-m, sounds like your crystal ball is working overtime. That's some pretty imaginative speculation for sure but chances for all of that to actually come to fruition are surely a longshot. What with the draft being relatively unpredictable, a great deal would have to fall into place to make it happen. Good reading, though . . . ever considered writing short stories?

Patrick Peterson

Jerry will find a way. Now I just need to dream up some scenario to reflect in a mock.

I was saying Peterson, but I'm gonna switch it up and go with JJ Watt.

I see the top 8 picks falling unfortunately for us (in that, no premier prospects fall), leaving us with the option of trading back and losing our guy or simply picking someone the team is extremely high on. The trauma of that horrible special teams draft a couple years ago taught Jerry that having more picks isn't always the better deal

How is trading back to 12 so Minnisota gets Cam a longshot. I heard they are really high on him so I could see them trading up for him. Then again trading back to 17 with NE. NE has several picks so if Cam Jordan or JJ watt is there at 12 I can see NE trading up to grab one of them.

Then packaging an extra 2nd and 4th to move back into the bottom of the 1st to get Harris sounds like a good deal to me. Jerry is high on Harris.

It might not happen but I wouldn't call it a long shot. I guess I could be boring and non imaginative and just say BPA or Amukamura, but I heard Dallas isn't that high on Prince.

.

He's playing LDE is a very similar scheme now.

If a 4-3 team takes him, he'll move to DT. If he's drafted by a 3-4 team he'll stay at DE.

I doing a full circle and going with either C Jordan or Watt on the DL - maybe after a small trade down.

I think Fairley, Dareus, Peterson, Bowers, and Miller will be gone.

As for Quinn, Amukamara, or T Smith, I think those guys are still in the hunt.

Tough choices.

But I'd bet if Peterson isn't there that JJ would love to pick up an extra pick or two and still get a top 15 player.

I'm sticking with Tyron Smith.

I think his combine weigh in and bench press results sealed his stock as the #1 OT by a considerable bit. He'll start from day one at RT in place of Colombo, who was the worst player ont he team last yr and be a massive upgrade. Eventually I suspect he moves to the LT spot, with Free moving back to RT.

They'll get a DE with their 2nd rd pick, either from standing pat or moving up some.

Prince if no trade down possible.

I can live with JJ Watt.

Im cool with just about anything we do besides drafting a RT @ 9 or Prince Akumara @ 9.

I didn't want a DE this high but I think the quality is so good that even a guy like JJ Watt wouldn't hurt my feelings.

SO WHERE DID YOU HEAR ALL THESE THINGS ABOUT THE VIKES LIKING NEWTON, JJ BEING HIGH ON HARRIS AND THAT THEY'RE NOT HIGH ON PRINCE??

And to answer the original question i say Tyron Smith(his pro day will absolutley wow people, he's fluid, smooth, great in pass protection. Why wouldnt we want a guy with athletic ability on the right said AS WELL as the left side. Opens up the running game a whole lot more imo).

Peterson or trade down. Trade (which I saw in another post) should look something like this:

Premier player is there @ 9 - and NE wants him.

Trade #9 for NE's 17 & 28 - don't have one handy, but I'm pretty sure 17 & 28 = 9 on the points chart, maybe Dallas gets more picks, not sure.

Give me picks 17, 28 and 40 any day instead of pick # 9.

Jerry will find a way to get Patrick Peterson. Jason Garrett does not have to win the Super Bowl this year. If it takes Jerry a year to get all the pieces in place, he's willing to be patient with Garrett at the helm now.

Marcell Dareus is a terrible pick, by the way.

I believe this too.
