Calling it now, our first round pick is...

Nobody is getting those numbers as CeeDee's #2 with Dak playing QB.
I should have said that better. A guy with the skill to to he a high volume player if needed. I dont think Golden has that skill set. You could need it if Lamb goes down. A top 15 pick WR needs to be able to be featured IMO. Even if he isn't going to be. You could find yourself in a Terence Williams 2015 situation

I'm not a fan of Golden at 12 either....but I will say, he always stood out to me during Texas games (and I'm not a Longhorn or Longhorn fan)
I am impressed that he average 102 receiving yards per game in the College Football Playoffs. That's some good competition to do that against.

These are my favorite draft picks every year!

They usually happen in the 2nd and 3rd for me though.

Graham might my guy this year at 12 that has a slim chance of falling who would be fun.
Mason Graham? I'd love to see him fall to us. I'd hate to see us not take him if he did.

For the last three years, the Cowboys first round pick has been the guy I absolutely hated and did not want them to draft.

2022: I hated Tyler Smith. The guys I wanted were Tyler Linderbaum or Jermaine Johnson

2023: I absolutely hated Mazi. I really wanted the Cowboys to take Nolan Smith, and would've been happy with LaPorta.

2024: Two of the only guys I disliked, in a completely loaded class, were Tyler Guyton and Darius Alexander. If I were GM, I would have turned down the Lions' trade offer and taken Terrion Arnold.

So clearly, the Jones family reads my forum posts and picks players just to piss me off. If they choose to spite me again this year, our 2025 first round pick will be:

Matthew Golden

For the Joneses reading this thread, I also really don't like Malaki Starks, and think Omarion Hampton would be a big reach in the top 15.
Bryan B. thinks that they would take Tet McMillan if available, if not Mykel Williams.

Jerry, Stephen and their front office suck at drafting more than they do good. They waste a lot of early-to-mid round picks. That is the problem.

Hopefully we hit paydirt. We might need 3:starters and a bunch of decent role players. It's a tough and unrealistic ask. Alot has to fall just right in the draft or we might have to be aggressive and trade a player for picks.

Would be a reach taking him just to take him because tmac is gone

If you trade down and got him that's good!!

Golden, to me, looks just like Brandin Cooks. Smaller, low volume speed guy. You can find that type of player anywhere in the first 4-5 rounds. I'm not spending the 12th pick in the draft on that. It's got to be a 50-60 snaps a game difference maker. Think front 7 on defense or a stud OLine guy

There are several scenarios I’m ok with. My most hopeful one is a rb ( preferably Jeanty) falls to us at 12
I want RB, WR be the first 2 picks but I’m also ok with a trade down and get another pick and grab LT and push Guyton to RT or just grab RT . I’ll lose no sleep if Steele is a June 1 cut

I am also ok with one of the blue chip DE if the other scenarios are not an option

Jeanty? Hunter?
Hunter is a maybe if he can actually play 2 positions in the NFL. As a CB or WR only? No.

Jeanty…not even close.

Generational is guys that come around that are legit blue chippers and once every 8-10 year type prospects.

Andrew Luck, Calvin Johnson, Nndamkung Suh…etc

Arnold was terrible for the Lions

Get with the times, my man... "Generational" now means just a very good player. There are now at least three or four of them in every single draft.

Luck was a good QB but I don't see generational there. Correct on the others. As far as generational , Peyton Manning was that. Elway, Aikman, Marino, Montana. I agree with you in the sense that this years crop , especially at QB, isn't outstanding. I truthfully would be ok if we didn't grab a QB to add. We have Milton, so I think that was our pick. Ok, what about the Michigan DTs, Grant, Graham?Graham would make me giddy if he fell to 12. To me, Jeanty is POTENTIALLY the one generational guy in the draft at his position. The other, Hunter. My only caveat with Jeanty is the level of competition he faced in the mountain West and the usage. He had a ton of workload. That's my concerns on him. Hunter is smallish. 185. Can he take the beating? How will a team use him and where? With both guys ya better have a great plan for them. I truthfully have no idea what we will do in the draft at 12. I guess let's just take bpa. No trade ups. But trade down?...let's roll. We need players. Sorry for the encyclopedia response lol. It's coffee fueled.
