Calling it now - trade up for Clowney

If Clowney falls to #6 we will move up a la Claiborne in 2012. Broaddus has stated it's been discussed as a possibility for us. We may even move up higher depending on the price. Given recent hype has 3 QB's plausibly going top 5 with a lockjam of talent remaining we could see enough shuffling around that leaves up able to go up and grab him. I'm predicting if Clowney falls we do it.

Never count Oakland out of doing something ridiculous. Would anyone really be shocked if Houston fleeced them for the #5 pick + next years first? Oakland always seems caught in a trance, maybe Miles Austin + our first could get us to #5, who knows with them lol but nothing can surprise me after the 2 firsts for Palmer trade..

In all fairness, Al Davis is dead, far less likely. Over the last few seasons, they haven't really made any major moves, just trying to recover from the last few.

The "luxury" (if you can call it that) of being really bad and drafting really high is that with so many holes on your team it is pretty easy to trade down, acquire picks, still secure top flight talent AND fill a need.

As it is, it wouldn't surprise me if Atlanta trades up to Jacksonville's spot to get him if he's there and Jax is willing to part with him.

Or giving Seattle 2 1st to get Joey Galloway ...

Going up to 6 to get Mo Claiborne after you payed 50 million to Brandon Carr and had Mike Jenkins on your roster.

The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein says an AFC offensive line coach told him South Carolina edge player Jadeveon Clowney will struggle his rookie year.
"Spoke with AFC oline coach who is studying SEC OTs & he thinks Clowney will struggle his rookie year as OTs will play him for inside move," Zierlein tweeted. Zierlein added that the same oline coach "was less than impressed with Clowney’s edge rush skills & thinks he is too dependent on inside moves." Clowney still has room to grow with his technique as a edge rusher, but still remains a rare prospect on the field. I dont see Clowney geting past Houston, they would be crazy to not add him to J.J. Watt.

But even if he does, imagine the trade offers St. Louis could have for him at #2. You have to at least get to #2 for him.

St. Louis is in a very good position. They will have a very busy phone for that pick with other teams wanting to steal Clowney (if he gets past Houston), or one of the QBs. It will be a fun draft. I just wish it wasn't so late this year.
