Mine is that McCarthy has said we are going to be more run-heavy, so our first two picks will be an offensive lineman and a running back. I'll go Gibbs in the first and Schmitz in the second or Torrence in the first and Charbonnet in the second.

I do wonder from that standpoint if a tight end like Darnell Washington would be high on our list because of his blocking ability. We could line up two tight ends with him and Ferguson and have a strong blocking group with the ability to pass to them as well.
Blocking TE in the 1st round...................man, I just cant get on board with that.

Take BPA on your board. That may not make a lot of folk here happy, but that’s what they should do.

I'm 100% certain that 99% of the draft called shots will miss their target..

If I had to bet I’d guess G or TE…which isn’t smart IMO but par the course.
Only TE I would nab in the first is Mayers from ND. And that would be one hell of a player if we could get him.

Guard is our biggest need and there should be a stud guard there. I would be happy with either of those picks. If they take a DT I will be equally as happy.

Torrence and Charbonnet would be incredible. Our run game would go through the roof.

I really really like Charbonnet, but I see no way he lasts till the end of the 2nd round.

Lots of great backs in this draft that you can get from the 3rd to 5th rounds.

It’s hard for me to get on board with a low value position unless it’s a wow player. Mayer doesn’t have the athleticism to push the needle for me and I don’t see any of these Guards as special.

That being said, he is a very high floor player and a safe pick so we could do worse.

We can disagree on Mayer. I think the kid looks like a complete stud. Can be an emotional and physical leader on the offense. Help in both the run and the pass.

26 is the perfect position to draft one of the top 2 guards in the draft. Its easily our #1 need and would complete the line.
