Jerome Henderson alone is good for 2 wins over last year without Carr and Claiborne and Jenkins as depth. I think we improve 3 to 4 games over last year on better coverage alone.

In case this is not crystal clear to anyone, I have no faith whatsoever in Dave Campo. None, zero, zip, nada.

I am officially saying I believe Henderson was our key acquisition this off season. As much as I like some of our FA and Draft haul...Henderson is the key to no more late comebacks.

We will have more sacks this year, more takeaways this year, and allow fewer points. This will lead to more wins.

If I was more settled about our Center I could be downright giddy, but I am not. My next biggest issue is Kickoff Returns.

Did the rule change again? Kickoffs ended up as touchbacks almost 50% of the time last year. I'd bet it would raise.

I agree with the coach. I was so happy Campo was fired. Just about anyone would have been an upgrade. Also love the secondary and the depth we have at db. Not sold on safety though yet, but I'm optimistic. I still think we need more help up front, maybe some steps up or turns a corner.

Agree, but I am going to go in the opposite direction. I will say Vickers because he is going to make our ground game one of the best, which should help us inside the redzone and finally be able to run the ball in from short yardage.

As for Costa, it is what it is. He can only get better right? I am just hoping for some improvement, especially on the snaps.

Johnnie Walker!!!!

Calling shots right?

oh...........

I am with you Hos.

I think the replacement of Campo with Henderson and the addition of Bill Callahan as well as Ryan having a full offseason to teach the defense should net us at least 3-4 more wins alone. Throw in the upgrades at CB and I see no reason why we can't go 13-3.

We could go 16-0 if the O-Line was better. :D

I actually think Costa will alright. It's the 2 guards I'm nervous about. I'm praying that Leary turns into something.

I'm gonna call 9-7

Probably a good call. We're really going to need to adequately address the OL before we can expect to be a major contender. Not too confident guys like Livings, Bernadeau, Costa, Arkin, etc are going to be able to get it done on the interior of the line.

I am calling that Mike Woicek will have the biggest impact i.e. Miles and Dez healthy and in shape, interior lineman with enough strength.
11-5.

I agree I think this will make a difference. Not sure about the record yet.

10-6. I called 9-7ast year and they almost made it. I think we've improved enough to get 2 more W's.

I agree 100% but giving him that kind of praise around here lately is like telling your wife she's fat. It may be true but your going to pay for it.

I think he wasn't the biggest acquisition but he'll make a huge impact.

I really think it's going to be tough to measure Henderson's impact because of the other additions to the secondary.

If we had the same secondary and improved dramatically, it would be easy to see the coaching had a lot to do with it. But instead we have added two corners who excel at what we want to do (press man) and a safety who is supposed to be better in coverage than the one he's replacing.

Same issue exists to an extent with Callahan because we will have two new starting guards. However, considering those starting guards and our starting center "washed out" under their previous coaches, I think it will be easier to measure Callahan's success.

Yup...

11-5.

Now that the majority of the rotten core is gone, it finally comes together.

I wouldnt go that far, I would wait, why, several reasons.
I do agree with you about jerome, but as we all know you have to get the players, good players to play the game to win. Then, on top of that you have to have a good coach that either the players fear or they love to play for, so he can motivate them. We have that now in Jason Garrett, and I have gone on record saying that, but takes time to build a championship team.

Next,
1. Health of Ratliff, now with the plantis foot issue he has, that could deter our defense, If you cant stop the run up the middle or pass rush like ratliff can, that slows down your defense and allows wrs to get open.

2. Ware's health, with his neck issue, reports say one good hit, and ware could be done. Ware is our really only good pass rusher outside of ratliff. We have seen squat from spencer. Then, our other only pass rusher Hatcher gets hurt 3-5 games each yr. So, if you dont have good pass rushers, I dont care who you have in the secondary, your going to get burned at times, no matter who the secondary coach is. Granted better secondary coach, and I didnt like Campo either helps, but if you dont have pass rush, your sunk on defense.

3. Schedule, this is a murderous schedule this year, and the skins did improve their team with a better QB now with RGIII. So, we cant bank on 2 wins from skins now.

4. Eagles will be better now, with the players they signed last year and one year to get to know each other and improve.

So, as they always say, dont count your chickens before the eggs hatch. Better to wait. I am taking this year, like the players are saying that their motto this year is put up or shut up, something like, Let the players prove it first, that they really want it and willing to pay the price. Jason Garrett is slowly getting the good players in. It took Jimmy Johnson 3 years before he turned this team around with the super walker trade that netted extra draft picks to get those players.

I see Jason Garrett doing that after this year. I see possibly Spencer or Jenkins, possibly both of them being traded by mid year or next year for high draft picks. Then, Jason can go get those super impact players like a Russell Maryland, or Aikman, or Emmitt Smith, Darren Woodson, Kevin Smith, and others.

The addition of Jerome Henderson, coupled with an offseason of teaching Rob Ryan's defense to the entire D squad will get us 2 extra wins. I'd bank on it. If not the most significant addition to the team this year, Henderson is certainly one of them, IMO.

Very high on having JH now a member of the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff.

You don't have to have any faith in Campo... he is now DC at KU...

I agree that Henderson is key...
