Myself and others have joked around about what this board would be like if we ever lost a game. The knee jerk over reactions is really no surpise to me.

I just want to know that if you truly believe this team is over rated and not really that great than sign your name in this thread.

I will be glad to bump it throughout the season when we are having much success. ( ask fuzzylumpkins)

First off I want to say the congrats to the Commanders, they won.

But does anyone honestly believe the better team won?

Im not the type of person that thinks because Oregon State can beat USC that Oregon State is the better team.

I think there is a reason why Washington Coaches, Players, Ownership, and Fans feel like world beaters after they beat Dallas.

Its because they all deep down know they beat a better team.
-------

If you think we are over rated from a "what has Dallas accomplished" standpoint than Ok... I can buy that.

But if you think that Dallas is over rated from a talent Stand point than I think you are borderline crazy.

The team we trot out on the field is good enough to win division championships, Conference Championships, and League Championships from a talent stand point.

So when you guys go off saying we are over rated please be a little more specific because I dont think there is a team in the league that we will line up against this year with more talent than the Dallas Cowboys.

Other teams Players, and even coaches acknowledge it.
---------

The Offense

Its really the least of my worries. Jason Garrett put together a lazy game plan today and it showed on the field.

Marion Barber is the heart beat of this offense. We look for him to be the strong left job that eventually sets you up to get knocked out. We never established our jab (Marion Barber).

I dont understand the "Romo needs to stop trying to be Tom Brady thread".

The things he has picked up from Brady have done nothing but make his game and his teamates game better.

He gives the Oline more time to block, which allows the receivers more time to get open.

He also does it to try and cut down on turnovers. So far it hasn't helped him in that category but hey at least hes trying to do something about it.

He'll get it figured out.

---
The Defense

These guys frustrate the crap out of me.

Im not incredibly against the scheme like I see a lot of you are.

I love the 3-4 defense. Especially with this personell.

We have been playing more bump coverage, and we are bringing the heat from everywhere.

I am displeased with the defenses ability to tackle (or lack there of) and NOT BEING ABLE to GET OFF THE FIELD on 3rd downs.

We will stuff them on 1st, give them 7 yards and 2nd, and allow them to have a 5 yard pass for a 1st.

Today was a weird day for the defense though because we got creamed in the run game (something that rarely happens, and Terrence Newman got ate up in coverage (another thing that rarely happens).

Bottom line is I know we have the personell to get better on defense and I know we have the scheme to get it better as well.

They have to learn to stop busting coverages though. If we dont have this defense top flight by the end of the year I will be disapointed.

The pieces are in place though. Its not like it doesn't have the potential to get better because the right guys to make it work are there.
----

All in all we weren't going 16-0 and we will be favored in almost every game if not every game this year and I expect we'll lose another.

It just happens. It doesn't mean we suck and are over rated.

why do posters worry so much who the better team is? 99.99999999999 % of this forum thinks Dallas was better than the Giants were last year, what did that get us? All that matters is who wins. and that BS about Washington players acting like world beaters, didn't happen, if anything they acted like they expected to win.

I don't think this team plays to the level of its talent. I think that sometimes this team gets too cocky and is not as mentally tough as they are physically talented.

I don't think we're overrated I think we are right where we should however there are some things that are unacceptable and it finally got the best of us today. Playing to far off the ball I don't understand how playing behind the 1st down marker as a CB is good in any way shape or form. I think its terrible and takes a lot of our players out of positions for plays to be made.

Jason Garrett abandons the run way to quick. We were only down by 14 and 7 at one point yet he didn't want to get the ball to Barber. Yes they were stopping us however our best runs game when running behind Bigg GUrode and Culombo I think they should have kept with the trend. Crayton stepped up big time for us however it wasn't enough.

Wade Phillips is to soft of a coach. I really think he should be calling some of the players out however IDK what goes on in pratice also I would like to state that his laid back demanor is piss poor and reflects poorly I wish he would have a Jimmy Johnson out burst

I'm curious Jimmy, what fan mindset do you want? I confess, after all the years of reading your takes I still have no earthly idea.

So let me understand, you want us to sign our name here if we think this team is over rated? Considering every one expects nothing less then the SB then if the Cowboys don't make it you can technically call them over rated correct?

I really don't understand your point? So if we beat the lonley Bengals next week your going to bump this thread and say I told you so? Does beating the Bengals prove anything?

Really, I'm not understanding but if your looking for a buyer I'll take it.

This team is over rated at this point in the season. They were being handed the crown with out ever taking it from the current owners. Over rated, yes. Talented, yes. Super Bowl Caliber right now, no!

On point on both. Thats all it is.

Although I do wonder how intelligent some of the players are sometimes.

Well, because, people act like when we lose this team can't win a Superbowl.

I don't understand how you can lose a week 4 game and all you see is "this defense isn't a championship defense."

Romo sucks. He didn't do this, he didnt do that.

Its the over reactions that drive me insane.

Just because Dallas can light up the New York Giants defense twice last year and make it look pathetic, along with other teams, doesn't mean that the New York Giants defense can't play Championship defense at some point.

Just tired of losing games that I feel like we're clearly supposed to win. That's all I'm tired of but none the less I'm not crushed by it. We'll get back on track and beat the Bengals, Cards, and Rams and go into the bye week, getting ready for the G-Men, at 6-1.

Woe is me, we lost a game.

We probaby shouldn't watch another game this season, there's no point if we're just going to lose.

can you spell ov_rr_action?? I need to buy a vowel

When our defense strings together an effort over several games as the Giants D did last year when it counted I'll give this post credit.

Catch, I understand what you're saying. Losses happen. You can't go slashing your throat every time your team racks one up.

With that said, though, this team MUST improve upon several areas if we're going to reach the level we want to. Games like today serve as the wakeup call to remember that. From the Romo INT, to force-feeding TO the ball, to forgetting the running game, to all the defensive woes; there's a long road ahead.

If we play the way we played today for the rest of the season we won't make the playoffs.

I'm sorry but if the Cowboys do not win the SB this year given the amount of attention they have received, the amount of talent on the team and the fact that a majority of the fans and media have basically crowned them champs any thing less then a SB win and we deserve the title of over rated.

Oh I tottally agree.

But thats the thing.

Over the years of posting I have noticed how the average joe fan thinks.

Everyone puts a "limit" on everything and they don't ever expect a team can improve and get better.
