The league including Jerry and Dan knew of this long before now. I'm told it's not as cut and dry as it sounds and in the end will not be as dry as just losing 10 or 36mil as it seems. I don't have details, I have just been told it's not as earth shattering as it seems (from a Cowboys standpoint).

On the other hand, consider this, Jerry knew about this far in advance and despite that he continued to speak on being aggressive in Free Agency. To me it seems they have had some time to prepare for this.

What about the Bears using $20 million in salary for Julius Peppers that season?

Agree totally, Jerry was all over the CBA and had to know this was a potential.

The only thing that gives me pause is that some of the reports are that this is a recent development between the league and the NFL players associations on the salary cap and player benefits.

SDogo...thanks bro for the update, but I'm really losing faith in the nfl with all their bull****

That makes sense. No way Jerry and Stephen didn't know this was coming. I'm sure the plans they made for FA, were made with this in mind.

Seems like they get a pass, much like the Aints will

Why are only the boys and Redksins being targeted from this. Didn't a handful of teams frontload a lot of contracts?

SDogo are the reports.true about Carr and Finnegan?

I still expect them to pursue Carr just as everyone thought they were 24 hours ago. One of them will be a Cowboy IMO.

For Dan West who has an obsession with my posts and is a loyal follower I want to issue this statement just in case their is any confusion.

At no time did I state or am I stating now I had any knowledge of this situation before it was announced today.

There ya go Dan, feel better?

Thanks. Before I was all like :chainsaw: :chop: :shoot3: :shoot2: :shoot1: :insane:

NOw, I'm all like

Thanks SDogo for the information. I hope it's not as bad as it initially seems but this has certainly killed the fun of free agency tomorrow for me.

It wasn't salary. only 10 million was salary. The rest was roster bonus that was converted to signing bonus, which is prorated over the life of the contract.

Miles Austin was 17 million in base salary and only counted that year.
