He looked great. One bad throw but overall pretty accurate, good wheels & a big arm.

I would hate to be a GM whose job hinges on finding the next franchise QB. The college game is so far off from the NFL now it’s crazy. Ward looked like he was playing backyard football vs Florida. Don’t get me wrong, he’s obviously extremely talented and could definitely figure out how to succeed in the NFL, but watching that 1st game I was thinking there were maybe 10 passing plays that resembled what an NFL offense looks like.

He had not shown his talent to create such a positive impact at his previous school Washington State.

But now as I watched him play with Miami against Florida, he looked extremely impressive.

Looked to have a strong NFL caliber skillset if judging by that first game.

And Miami's schedule is a favorable one too this year.
So they may be a sleeper contender.

It's funny that his only offer out of high school was Incarnate Word and now he is at Miami and on the verge of being a 1st round draft pick.

He looked solid. Very calm and composed. I would recommend he get out of bounds quicker once he becomes a runner. He pulled up a couple of times and was lucky the Gator defenders didn't light him up as he was still in bounds. I doubt every opponent will be so charitable.

Just goes to show with all the advanced scouting techniques and fancy analytics, we still fail to measure the heart and spirit of the person.

Not for nothing, but there were folks on this board saying LAST September that he had first-round talent.

He shouldn't be sneaking up on anyone.

Sometimes that heart and spirit doesn't manifest until that person faces adversity. This young mans journey has shaped him.

Caught his act a lot at Wazzou. Not the fan you guys are and imagine he’ll come down to earth.

Eh… the guy could have gotten much better, I guess. Good luck to him.

Its “funny” for someone to believe that a 20 year old QB playing in college can improve is strange but expecting a 31 year old QB to suddenly improve is not LOL
