Actually there are not really that many hybrids out there.
I was quite shocked when I did some research of the number of cars last year that did not get 30+ mpg compared to those that got less.
However it is improving.
On a side note I was watching some show last year on discovery. Can not remember the name of it but maybe others will.
It is a show where a guy will find an old car and make it into a top end muscle car and then auction it off. And at the end of the show they are always worrying if they will make a profit from the auction after the money they have put into the car.
Anyways one time they did a "green" car. Did all they could to have a good muscle car while at the same time getting the best MPG available for it.
I can not remember the HP vs the MPG when it was all done but it was pretty good considering the HP it had.
