Why? What does it hurt to get excited for the season? No need to be miserable before it's time.

Where did I say not to get excited about the season? I’m excited about every season. I’m saying it’s best not to get too excited about the prospects for the team until we see what we have when the season starts. Fans that get their expectations too high for the team usually end up getting burned. Once they see the team isn’t as good as they thought or were expecting they get angy and frustrated with some taking it out on other fans on the board. I enter summer/fall excited about the start of the season but cautious about the team so I don’t get too deflected if things start going bad.
