Camp Notes Day 2

As QB, leader, and money man....part of his job is too not screw up as bad as the rest of the team. Also...to inspire them not to screw up so bad.

Who else do you think should do that...the punter? smh
Damn right! The punter has to do his job as well. AGAIN....Dak has one of the best QBRs in NFL HISTORY in the playoffs. He makes mistakes....all QBs do. There have been QBs that aren't leaders....ie. Trent Dilfer when he won a SB for the Ravens. Regardless what someone's paycheck is....it still takes a team. It's always the not so versed football fans that don't have a clue. If you're getting a paycheck you play your *** off to help this team win...period. smh.

Some thoughts from the second #Cowboys minicamp practice:

- Another day, another Kaiir Elam PBU. It should’ve been an interception but he couldn’t bring it in.

- Solid day from Dak Prescott. In an end of half situation where the offense had 1:15 left on the clock trailing by 8, Prescott completed 6 of his 8 passing attempts with the drive capped off by a touchdown pass to Jake Ferguson in the seam with coverage draped over him. Also converted the 2 point conversion on a rollout pass to Miles Sanders.

- Micah Parsons participated in some individual drills, but wasn’t a part of the team periods.

- There’s still heavy rotation at corner. DaRon Bland, Israel Mukuamu, and Kaiir Elam all took reps on the outside with Bland, Kemon Hall and Juanyeh Thomas taking reps in the slot during first team activities.

- The Joe Milton experience was back today, with a couple errant throws and taking some time to decide on a target, but some ropes to with one on the move to Ryan Flournoy and another to Mingo in the corner of the endzone for a touchdown.

- Donovan Ezeiruaku is starting to stand out more. His bend is on full display and he’s getting to the backfield.

- Speaking of getting to the backfield, Marist Liufau got to the quarterback a few teams in 11 on 11.
Hey Mingo.scored a TD..woohoo
Oh wait it's just OTAs...nevermind

It's when the WHOLE team get in front of another team is when there are problems...namely the playoffs. Not just Dak. Guy has one of the best QBR in the playoffs history. It's not just him...it's the team...smh
And when the whole team is playing bad who is the one player that can right the ship with his play and inspire others to play at another level. The kicker, DE, CB, RB, WR????
Hell no it's the QB!!!
The QB has a greater responsibility than anyone else on the team. You look around the league and teams are only as good as their QB.

Actually our punter is pretty "dang" GOOD!

So we've heard the last 8-9 years how much of a leader Dak is. SO now...he doesn't have to be? smh

I haven't agreed with that assessment...certainly not consistently. I very much agree, the QB does not have to be the de facto leader.

Yes...we all know it "takes a team". Any time someone criticizes dak, even rightfully so...we get TPONS of "it takes a team". smh.

I also agree...you play your but off regardless checks or rosters slots.

It would seem we actually agree on almost everything...except Dak's responsibility and accountability. He gets free passes from you. smh.

In fact if there is one sure indicator of a QB who is a leader is how the team calms down and rises up when the QB pushes them. It’s in how the offense reacts and how the defense responds to what the offense is expecting.
Exactly. What other position can so much be done, so often? Falls on the QB every offensive play. Yes, I know, other positions have to do their job every play too...just in a more limited fashion.

"Dak doesn't play defense"....but he and the offense can sure HELP!

That's bs. Any play or player can hype a team. Have you ever played organized sports? So...you're telling me that the year the Ravens won the SB in 2000, they were only as good as their QB, which was Trent Dilfer? GTHOH

Don't change the narrative now. I never said Dak doesn't deserve accountability and responsibility but....well versed football people know...that it's not all Dak like the not so well versed footballs think it is Dak. And I'm not putting you in any of those categories....you know which one you're in. Parsons a damn good player also but tell me ONE playoff game he showed up to? He hasn't but again, it's not his fault. It takes the entire team and when they get that chemistry and leave it on the field is then and only then we'll make noise in the playoffs cause the talent is there from QB on down to the kicker. As long as the coaching staff is in that mix as well...we'll see something different. BUT...it's not JUST Dak.

Change the narrative? I think you just did. If ya'd just said that from the get go...we wouldn't be wasting time with this silliness.

You went on and on about "team game". Without ONE WORD about accountability...until now.

Smh. Again...if you played organized sports, you'd know every player is accountable. You blamed it all on Dak initially

Sure any player can hype a team but no player will have as big effect as a QB who hypes a team with his play. You had to go back 25 years to find that outlier with Dilfer. That was one of the last great intimidating defenses. The league created rules to stop the head hunting going over the middle and leading with your helmet. They've also created rules to protect the QB. So I stand by your only as good as your QB.

Ppl wanted Byron Jones ran out of town because he didn't get turnovers, now Elam is getting his hands on passes but not catching them, how y'all feel about that?
Good that hes at least getting his hands on them, but bad because its our Qbs that's throwing those passes

Lol...if that's what you think.

Being a leader in the locker room is not enough , Dak has to dictate his play on the field to show & lead , especially in the playoffs .
