Campbell to request trade if Skins draft QB

Jason Campbell will request to be traded should the Commanders acquire a quarterback in this weekend’s draft, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The Commanders, who have the 13th overall pick in this weekend’s draft, reportedly have shown substantial interest in USC QB Mark Sanchez. However, Sanchez could be selected in the top five — long before the Commanders are scheduled to pick.

The Commanders likely would have to trade up to take Sanchez. If they were to land Sanchez, it would mark the second time they have made an attempt to acquire a quarterback in the past few weeks. Washington reportedly made trade overtures toward Denver for Jay Cutler before he was dealt to Chicago.

Campbell, a first-round pick by the Commanders in 2005, has said he wasn’t bothered by the team’s inquiry for Cutler. However, another attempt to secure Campbell’s replacement or successor wouldn’t go over well.

He'll be traded on draft day. I think the 'Skins give up the farm to move up for Sanchez. Wouldn't surprise me if they gave up a #1 this year and next to move up. I think everyone knows that once Danny boy falls in love with someone, he will give up everything to get them.

I watched Sanchez a few times and don't see anything special about him. Hence why Danny Boy will bet the house. Campbell, I thought you were the good soldier. Even if they drafted Sanchez, Campbell would probably start all season. Also, what happened to the Colt love?

He may have played well this one season for USC but I don't think he's at all proven.

boy, wouldnt it be great for us, if the Commanders get the quarterback or one they didnt expect to get; trade the farm away to get sanchez etc, have no picks this year or top pick next year

please let the skins trade the farm for sanchez. He only came out this year because McCoy, Tebow, and bradford stayed put and he went from the 5th or 6th qb taken to a high first rounder.
