Can any Clemson fans tell me about Airese Currie?

I was looking up some speedy, possible Day 2 WR's, and came across Currie. He's a track star and ran a 10.22 in the 100mm, but it looks like he put up pretty nice receiving numbers his senior year. Kind of small, but looks like a possible Bethel Johnson type.

Any inside input?

Sorry, not a Clemson fan. I'm a South Carolina alum and have had the displeasure of seeing Currie help kill my Gamecocks in the past. Currie is a straight go route speed WR. He is a track guy, has had foot injury problems in the past. The guy was productive in a good conference like the ACC, I believe he led the league in receptions. I think he would be a pretty good second day pickup for a team like the Cowboys who don't really have a burner type WR.

I've been interested in him too since they say he's probably the fastest guy in college, but I never really kept up with Clemson. I believe he's had some big games against teams like Miami. One thing to consider, his QB at Clemson looks very bad.

The Clemson quarterback, Charlie Whitehurst, is a NFL prospect who didn't advance his game this past season, but he's by no means a liability throwing the ball.

Airese Curry was second fiddle in his recruiting class to fellow wide receiver Roscoe Crosby, who has since left the team for baseball or something.

Curry is a speedster and has flashed moments of being a player, but it's a guess as to how he'll fare as a pro, IMO.

I can't comment on his smarts or route running ability, vital keys to a lasting career.

But Curry does have speed and quickness, which are good cogs to start building on.

I'd be happy to hear his name on day two.

Well since he threw 7 TD's and 17 INT's last year and wasn't in the top 100 in passer rating, I guess we'd consider him at QB :banghead: lol
