The Carolina Panthers in Carolina again for the third time three consecutive years, I'm sorry if this is off topic but this is really irritating me.

That's just the way the scheduling formula works out. Remember when we had Green Bay at home from 93-96?

One of the years, it worked out to where we played the NFC South. The other two, we've just finished in the same place as them, and we have to play the NFC South second place team in their stadium. Just dumb luck, kind of like how the Colts kept having to play NE in NE.

Great, I love this! It is the only time that I can realistically see the Cowboys play without spending over $500 for plane tickets. Don't worry about it, though. There are always plenty of Cowboys fans in Carolina, so it's basically a home game for the Cowboys. Last season, a Carolina fan got beat up by a Cowboys fan in Carolina, and no Carolina fans attempted to help him out...talk about embarrasing...

I can try.

Each year we play one division from the AFC and one from the NFC.

This means that in 2010 we will once again play the AFC South. Last year we played the AFC West. We will play them again in 2009. In 2004 we played the NFC North. We will play them again in 2008. This year we play the NFC East. We will play them again in 2011. This year we played Indy and Houston at home, J-ville and Tennessee on the road. In 2010, those will switch. The same for the other Divisions for as long as there are 32 teams.

In the NFC since we are in a division, it means that we play the other 3 divisions on a 3 year cycle instead of a 4 year one. This year we played the NFC West. We will play them again in 2009. Just like the AFC we will switch hoem and away.

Okay, so this means we have 6 division games, home and away. 4 AFC Division opponents with 2 each at home and 2 away. That is 10 games. 4 NFC Division opponents with 2 each at home and away. That brings you to 14 games with 7 on the road and 7 at home.

Okay, now the explanation of why this has worked out that we play in Carolina.

The remaining 2 games are from the other 2 NFC Divisions, you play the team that finished in the same place as you did. 1st place team plays the 2 other 1st place teams, one at home, the other on the road. This gets you the 8 home and 8 away.

In 2005 when we played the NFC West our home game against the same place finisher was against the NFC North, away against the NFC South. In 2008 the North will be our away game, and the South our home game.

The schedule for 32 teams is perfectly balanced so that this always follows a pattern. As long as we stay at 32 teams you can predict 14 of the 16 opponents from now until eternity and know whether we play them at home or on the road. The last 2 games are the only 2 that can't be predicted. You simply know it is the same place finisher.

So, in 2005 the NFC South same place finisher was Carolina and we were scheduled to be on the road against them. In 2006 we played the NFC South and it was Carolina's turn as Home team. In 2003 we had them in Dallas. In 2009 they will again be in Dallas.

This year we again have the NFC South same place finisher away, and that is Carolina. We play the NFC West same place finisher (St. Louis) at home. In 2004 this was opposite. In 2010 it will be again.

In other words even these 2 final games are cyclical. That's how we ended up playing them 3 years in a row at Carolina. If in 2007 we finish same as them we will play them again in 2008, but this one in Dallas. 2009 they come to Dallas. That would be 2 in a row in Dallas. if in 2009 we finish same place as them yet again they would come to Dallas in 2010 for 3 years in a row just like we are with them.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. If I can clarify anything...ask.

Yeah that would be me!!!! Some punk grabbed my Cowboys Americas team flag and ran from me until I caught him, Man your right there more cowboy fans then Panther fans but, I would rather pay to fly to a home game then drive and fight in a away stadium, I hate that place, just a sore spot with me 3 years in a row jeepers creeper
