Winning the NFCE division with a losing record does not mean he was a good coach, it means the other teams were not good either. The emergence of Dalton Schultz in 2020 has more to do with Witten and Jarwin being gone, nothing to do with big mac. Noah Brown emerged? Also, you are now giving credit to big mac for the great job KM has done. KM is the innovator on the offense, not big mac.
garrett was getting nothing out of schultz or brown...with kellen moore.
the success of this offense under mccarthy absolutely reflects on him.
that this team has a chance to be division champs 100% is because of these players and this coaching staff.
he should be in the running for coach of the year.

Schultz didn't have a chance to do anything with Witten and Jarwin on the roster. Noah Brown still hasn't done anything. The success of this offense? The team has only won 6 games but yes you are right, it is a direct reflection on big mac. He should be fired. 7-9 should never win the division and it's nothing to brag about even if it wins the division. This is is a sorry team with a sorry HC in a sorry division. And you fit right in praising all that sorriness. I guess that makes you a sorry fan.

Pederson has a lombardy.
Rivera's been to the big dance.
Judge is still an unknown.
Mac has a lombardy.
The nfce has been plagued with problems. Definitely not a good year for evaluating coaches. The fact we're in the hunt last game of season is a credit to the man.

i could give a damn about your assessment of me.
this team has won 6 games because it lost Dak,Tyron Smith,La'el Collins to injury and had no real off-season to implement changes on defense.
yet despite that...it has a chance to win the east.
go root for the eagles if you don't like it.
you asked me a question...i answered it.
if you don't wanna hear my answer...don't ask me the question.
go argue with your reflection.

Haze in my opinion is one of the best posters on this board. You guys need to lighten up and stop acting like 6th grade teachers. Maybe the guy just made a mistake. Point it out and move on. Risen your also a good poster on here as well but he's not hating just reporting facts. Made a mistake and thats it. Everyone on here is so quick to jump on everyone the second they spot something wrong. The only haters are all of us on each other. That being said, God bless to you all, Happy New Year and lets get this win Sunday
With Risen,it's tongue in cheek...you should know that by now..and on this site,he's the master of it.

The Cowboys have faced a week 17 “must win to get in” challenge several times in the Jones years.
  • In fact, 4 times in the last 10 years, they have gone into the final 2 weeks of the season needing to beat an NFC East opponent to win the division.
  • All 4 times in the last 10 years, with the division and playoffs on the line, Dallas has lost. It happened in 2011, 2012, 2013, and last year in 2019.
Amazingly, the 1993 Cowboys, coached by Jimmy were the last Cowboys team to win the division in Week 17, defeating the Giants 16-13 in that great overtime game where Emmitt was a hero. There have been other division winners over the years of course, but it’s been 27 years since a Cowboys team won the division on the last game of the year against a division rival. That’s a baffling stat.

On the good side of history are the teams Mike McCarthy has coached in Week 17 since his days at GB. Big Mac has had a good record of winning this time of year. Here’s some evidence:
  • Dallas’ current three-game winning streak has improved McCarthy’s record to 42-19 in regular-season games played in December and January.
  • MM teams have been even better in Week 17. His Pack teams went 9-3 in the final week of the season, including a 3-1 mark with the division on the line.
So will recent history be repeated? Or will Big Mac find a way to reverse fortunes? Hopefully we win in NY and the egirls find a way to win against the WFT. In late Nov, who would have ever thought this opportunity was possible?

Let’s be honest. The Dallas Cowboys are not a very good football team. But they have had the good fortune of being in a terrible division and a favorable schedule down the stretch. To their credit, this team has continued to improve. Sunday night, we will know how much this team has improved.

That Emmitt dislocated shoulder game might be the best game these old eyes ever see again.
A true warrior that day, and testament to how this was once upon a time a gladiator event.

Hey, Bob. Now that you're staff here maybe lighten up on the hate.
This brings up a question I have. Are Mods ever benched by another Mod. Or do they intentionally alter their thoughts and post to not infringe on the rules in anyway?

You’d think after tens of thousands of post and responses they’d slip up at least once however unintentional. I go to quite efforts to not break the rules but there have been times I slipped or pushed the boundaries .

Just curious who monitors the Mod Squad and or if they must tone it down. I respect and appreciate their thankless efforts to maintain discipline and adherence. A solid team here.

I keep an eye on them but I give them as much leeway as possible.

I believe Dallas was already eliminated last year going into week 17. The 17-9 loss to Philly the week before they blew out Washington eliminated them. But you're point is still well taken.
I dont think so will look it up but we both may have been playing at the same time but that Commander game meant something when it started and the team was score watching the eagles game ..

heres proof i went by memory but found this, looks lie we played at the same time but the game meant a lot just like today..

Truth is absolute. Not subjective.
What chance did Schultz have with Witten and Jarwin around? What has Noah Brown done that makes him an "emergent player"? How do you call a 6-9 team successful? Only 6 wins going into week 17 does reflect directly on big mac poorly. He should be fired! 7-9 should never win the division and it's nothing to brag about even if it wins the division. This is a sorry team with a sorry HC in a sorry division. You fools that make excuses for big mac are pathetic and fit right in praising all that sorriness. The sorriest fans in the league.

I'll admit he won't get fired but he should be.

I never wanted him in the first place but you don't fire him, or any coach, after this one mess of a season. Jerry was a fool for hiring him and he'd look like a bigger fool for firing him one crazy year later.

How far did you expect to go with Andy Dalton, two undrafted rookie tackles, and the usual 21st century Cowboys defense? This was a .500 team, when healthy, in 2019. Convincing yourself this team is better than it really is will always lead to frustration.

covid. injuries. it's not difficult, really. even the best shot in the world is ineffective when he runs out of ammo.

I have faith in Andy Dalton and Coach Philbin. They are doing a good, sometimes great job. The defense appears to be coming together at the right time. I don't know what to expect anymore. But I envision this team in the playoffs giving it their all and making TB12 play his best to get a win.
