I admit knowing little about the guy but no question, we have to find a solid backup to cover the min 2 or more games Tyron Smith WILL MISS.

  • CORDY GLENNT, CINCINNATI BENGALS

Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official website believes the team will release LT Cordy Glenn.
Glenn is headed into the final year of his contract, and the Bengals can clear all $9.5 million in cap space by cutting him with no dead-money absorption. Glenn battled concussions last and played in just six games. He'll be entering his age-31 season. Glenn can still play at this level, but the Bengals are ready to move forward with 2019 first-rounder Jonah Williams at left tackle after he missed his entire rookie year.

If he was a starter I would expect a team that may be weak at one of the tackle positions throw money at him to be a starter.

He's certainly not going to go from being a starter earning close to $10 million a year to a cheap backup.

Wouldn't shock me if they try to see if Hyatt or Knight could be the swing T this year
I think they might move Connor Williams back to tackle. In my opinion, that's what he is, not a guard.

They seemed to like Knight enough to keep him on the roster from the start of the season. I was not impressed with Hyatt, but then again what in the hell do I know about in. So will go with him making a leap in his 2nd year. Both are better options than Flemming. Which they have a club option on his contract. And the 2nd year players are far cheaper and probably offer more upside that Flemming.

I say let Flemming walk, and see what the other can do. If they do not pick up the option though, will Fleming be a FA with no possible comp pick, or will we possibly get one. Is it like a RFA or ERFA not being tendered an offer is a FA and no comp pick figured in the formula.

Let McGovern compete at LG and yes, let Williams compete for Swing Tackle.

You mean you don't think he will take a heavily incentivized deal where he doesn't get paid if he doesn't start any games?

Damn..I was hoping we could sign about 15 guys under that contract

Not too familiar with him, although, he's 6-5, 31years old and 345 lbs, causing me to doubt how effective he is in pass pro at tackle. He came into the league at 320. We might well be better off with Knight or Williams at OT.

Mitch hyatt will most likely replace fleming

Connor Williams is your swing tackle, seems like an obvious choice and it saves you $5 million by letting Cam Fleming go

Williams has had knee surgery for the last 3 years, there's no way the new coaches are going to view him as a long-term starter at guard

He's perfect as a swing tackle. You also have another good backup tackle on the roster in Knight

to cover the min 2 or more games Tyron Smith WILL MISS.
To be fair if it wasn't for his 40 million dollar a year QB crashing into his ankles he might of not even missed this most recent season

Honestly Joe, I thought he was a FA...........
Your technically not right or wrong. It's an optional club option for this year

Contract was basically back-up money for year 1 and year 2 basically mid tier starting right tackle salary. They ended up signing La'el so there's no need for the club option (club option was basically telling Cam "if your on the roster in 2020 where going to pay/treat you as if your starting")
