Can Dom Capers be an option as DC?

I'm not sure if he is under contract in Miami or not, but can we interview this guy as DC? Or would it have to be asst. HC. I would not want him as HC, but he has a long established track record as a top DC in this league. I'd love to have him especially with success in both 3-4 and 4-3...
